Jessica's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 3, 2003

Halloween came and went, but not without a lot of stress for me. Amanda was Dora the Explorer. She spent the entire morning practicing Spanish, "to get ready to be Dora." She only knows a few words, so she repeated those time and time again. Her pre-school class had a party and we were all supposed to supply a dish for that. I also had to make a dish for my work, and appear in costume. Alison's class did not require a food donation, just her adorable costume - an ice cream cone. She cried during the whole parade and refused to wear the cherry hat. Oh well. I raced from work to the day care to get them, raced home in time to change clothes and dash down thte street to a pre-trick-or-treating dinner with a bunch of families who have stay-at-home moms that brought amazing potluck dishes. I couldn't get one done in time, so a friend brought something for me. Ahh-- the working mom syndrome.

Trick-or-treating was the cutest ever! Three is such a great age for that! I imagine that it gets better each year fro awhile. But, by the time we went 1/2 way, I had a headache and Alison was in tears (Daddy forgot the bottle) so I headed home and let Daddy finish the route.

Now we are in the candy battle. Amanda wants candy every day. Lots of it. I swapped her stuff when she wasn't looking. I put fruit snacks and crackers in the bucket, but she caught on. She's just too smart!

Alison is teething four top teeth at once. We're up to our eyeballs in drool. Thank heaven for Orajel and Tylenol!
