Somehow Amanda has learned bad words. We are very careful at our house to keep our language clean and we don't watch T.V. that has bad language. I knew it would eventually happen; we can't be there all of the time. The bad word of the week is the F word. What's worse is that she uses it properly. "Mom, I dropped my F-ing crayon!" So, when she uses it in public, it really appears like we talk like that all the time. At first, we tried ignoring it. I've heard that if they don't get a rise out of you, they eventually give up. But then it more and more frequent. "Who's knocking on the F-ing door?" Finally we resorted to the time out thing. I'm not sure it has worked yet. AARRGGHHH!
This week I returned to work from summer vacation (I'm a teacher) Back to work means getting up at 5:00 and dragging the girls to daycare at 6:45. I'm exhausted already! Will I survive until Thanksgiving? (my next day off) What makes it worse is......
Alison has developed the habit of sleeping in our bed! We agreed to not do that. Amanda has always slept in her own bed. This is good mainly because she is a kicker. So, when Alison came along we thought "No problem!" Nope. We put her in her crib in her own room, but when she begins crying I have to go to her or she wakes up Amanda. Once that happens I might as well stay up! So, little Alison has won the war. She turns sideways and I wake to find myself clinging to the edge of the bed. Amazing how daddy has lots of room. Hmm.
