April 4, 2003
April 4, 2004 Spring is Sprung!
This thing still won't let me date for 2004.
Anyway, hello everyone. Spring is officially here to me when the time changes and of course, bam it has changed. Walker took it like a champ. Thus far that is. We had a birthday party yesterday and he took 2 naps of 30 min each and so he was exhausted last night. He finally crashed around 10 (very late for my 8pm bedtime boy and not as late as last week when he wanted to be 9pm kid). Anyway, he has been fine today. He slept til 9 AM which is awesome by me for everyday. I love to sleep til that time. Other than that, let me see what is happening.
First things, my talking monkey...he is doing peat and repeat well, here it is in a list:
peat and repeat words:
baby
yellow (ellyow)
red (wed)
bu (blue)
truck (uck)
balloon (boon)
thank you (an u)
his spontaneous words, and you are gonna love this:
shut up (shu up) the sitter and various other folks tell dogs that are barking around here to shut up, so Walker has picked that one up and any barking dog is told to "shu up" quickly....'rolling my eyes'
mama which he says when you have prompted him to say thank you for a long time, he will then just say "mama" everytime you give him something
dada which he says alot, ALOT
nana
and you can add boon or balloon to this list b/c it is happening alot the last 2 days.
I love it! I wanted a talker! I may regret it later but for now I LOVE IT! He jabbers and we have conversations:
Walker: yab ber do ma ya
me: oh yea
Walker: sabidoaya made ma
me: oh my
Walker: sedibmaoldkallala
me: you don't say
Walker: yadaberdkeilalala
me: who told you that
Walker: sildoelakaka
me: Wow
for hours on end we do this all day and occasionally he throws in a word that fits with my part of the conversation. Last night on the way home, he gives me some jabber and I say, "no way!" and he says "yeaaaaa" and me and dh both almost lost it laughing. This kid is gonna be a ride!
We are having a huge Easter Egg hunt next Saturday and I would ask advice if I had a ttm board, hey wait, you could email me, jerriann@walkertown.biz. There will be about 30 kids, ranging from 1 mo, 6mo, 1 year up to 10, 12 or so and I have some 14 and 16 yo's coming to help entertain. I've bought a t-ball game, we are gonna get a pinata', and I have some balls and some of Walker's toys to take outdoors for the smallest ones, and of course his wagon should be a hit. We are gonna hunt eggs, grill hotdogs and I"m looking for a few more games. We are going to hide a golden egg with like $10 in it, the other plastic eggs will only have change in them. Then, there will be about 100 eggs to hide and hunt. We are going to say "find 5" so that the big ones don't find them all, so like "find 5 and come back to home base" then when everyone has found five, we send them back to find 5 or 10 more. That way, the 12 yo's don't hog the eggs from the 4 and 5 yo's. Any games would be appreciated, I'm thinking of a 3 legged race or maybe even a toss the egg game and use some un-boiled eggs. Any other ideas out there? Feel free to email me!
Other than that, we are still waiting on loan approval to build a house. This changes everytime I post an entry so don't ask is all I can say, just believe it when you see it.
We are ttc and as it appears, I o'd yesterday and we covered all the bases for getting pg this time.
I want to send out a big hug to my buddy Laura for all she has been through and send prayers to Corinn.
Thanks for reading,
Jerri Ann and Walker (the chatter goes on)
