Jenny's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 31, 1999

Hi everyone!! Hope you have all had a good week with your toddlers. Our week was very busy here in Hong Kong. My brother, sister-in-law and nephew Cody flew in from Australia and stayed one week with us. Dylan and Cody are both two years old, so it was great for them to spend some much-awaited time together. They had a great time with each other and were really excited to see each other at the airport. I don't think Dylan ever believed that he would see Cody again. This is one of the problems we face living overseas. Dylan doesn't understand why all our visitors have to leave. He is always asking after his grandparents and his little friends.

Dylan is doing really well with his toilet training. My DH and I were worried that he might have a few accidents while Cody was here because he would be busy with other things, but he was excellent. Each day is getting much easier. He is still not eating much and is cutting his two-year molars at the moment. He is always asking for milk and is not interested in food.

It is beginning to cool down here now which is helping Dylan sleep much better at night. Since he was a newborn, Dylan has never been a good sleeper and has always woken up every night. He is now beginning to sleep through (yippee!!) which makes me feel like a new woman. I am not so tired during the day anymore!!

We have told Dylan that this Christmas he is going to give Santa his dummy. He seems quite happy with this idea at the moment. He loves his dummy, but I feel that he is getting too old for it now. We will see what happens at Christmas time. He is very addicted to sucking his dummy and doesn't like it when he is not allowed to have it.

Tomorrow we are off to swimming lessons, which Dylan loves very much. He has just learnt to put his head under the water and kick his feet. He has really good water confidence now which will be especially great when we move back to Australia and spend a lot of time at the beach!!

Anyway, that's all for this week!! Have a great week!!

Cheers,

Jenny and Dylan
