Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you all. I hope you all had a very enjoyable time with your toddlers? We had a lovely Christmas and, as usual, Dylan was very spoiled. He was so excited to see that Santa had eaten the fruitcake that he left him, and that he drank the milk. This was the first thing he checked on Christmas morning. It was so cute!! He loved unwrapping his presents and when he saw what he had he would say "Wow wee!" He couldn't believe his eyes at all the presents. He was very excited when he saw his trains, and he has played with them ever since. We spent Christmas day with some friends of ours who were visiting us from Australia. We had a fabulous lunch at one of the big hotels. Santa came to see the children and gave them all presents. So, all in all, Dylan had a wonderful day.
Not long after Christmas Day, Dylan started to get quite sick and vomit
everywhere. It was just awful seeing him so helpless. He was crying all the
time and just wanted to lie down. We ended up taking him to the hospital
and yesterday they put him in for observation. He has a bad bout of
gastroenteritis and is slowly on the mend. It has been a horrible
experience for my DH and me to see him so sick and not himself. Our fingers
are crossed that he is now on the road to recovery. We have him sleeping in
our bed at the moment so we can keep a close eye on him. New Year's Eve was
spent at home taking care of him. We didn't care that we had to stay at
home, and we quite enjoyed watching all the fireworks around the world!!
Hong Kong was a bit of a fizzer after seeing London, New York and Sydney!!
This week I am working every day. I am working each morning for three hours and Dylan is going to my girlfriend's place. She also has a toddler the same age as Dylan. I am feeling quite anxious about leaving him. This will be the very first time I have done such a thing since living in Hong Kong. Dylan is very excited about going to his friend's place. Of course, I will be the one fretting at work while he is having a great time!!! If he was 100% well I would probably feel better about it, but he is definitely well enough now to play and have fun. I am the biggest problem!!
My DH and I had a lovely Christmas present for each other. I found out that I am pregnant and am expecting baby number two at the end of August. We are thrilled with the news and very excited about Dylan having a baby brother or sister. My pregnancy is quite different from my first one. I find I don't have the time to just sit and enjoy being pregnant and think about the baby that I will have. I used to do this a lot with Dylan. Dylan will be a fabulous big brother!!
Have a great week and happy toddling.
Best Wishes
Jenny and Dylan x
