December 18, 2000
I got food poisoning last week. Can I tell you how much fun that was? Wes and I went out for wings on our date night and within hours of getting home, we were both sick. I mean SICK.
Right now that is the least of our worries. We have how many days 'til Christmas and we have only bought one gift. We will be doing some serious shopping this week. Christmas is going to be small this year anyway. The kids are getting one gift each from us and what ever they get from Santa. Of course, my children also have grandparents who will spoil them. We have decided not go get the boys any toys. We would get clothes for all the kids, but we have already picked up a Cabbage Patch kid for Anne. It looks just like her. I have no idea what to get Wes, either. The past five years I have bought him perfect gifts. The way it is going, this year he is going to get sex. Seriously, though, I really have no idea what to buy. He has already bought my present. He said come Christmas morning I will either love him or hate him. That worries me.
We have not had their picture taken with Santa, yet. We are so behind. What are we going to do? I have a group picture taken with Santa every year, for my purposes. I don't want to let that tradition go. I have also tried to buy them a Hallmark ornament every year, as well. I screwed that one up last year. Maybe I can blame it all on Wes?
Merry Christmas to everyone everywhere (especially Japan). I hope your holiday is filled with wonderful memories and one or two embarrassing moments that will make you laugh in years to come. Remember your children are only this age once and whether or not everything goes as you have planned, you need to cherish every moment. You'll never get them back.
