Aaron was caught singing "Jesus Loves Me" in the car today. It was great. He is so musical. Georgia has a program where a classical CD is given to every new mother who delivers her baby in a Georgia hospital. I just can't think of the title of the CD now, but it is supposed to help babies' brains develop I don't completely understand the project, but I do know that singing to Aaron has helped him learn. We could repeat words until we were blue in the face, but when we started singing words to him, he picked up on them right away. We sing about everything we do. When he is sick or tired or hurt and needs to be rocked we sing "rock, rock, rock, rock." We sing about diaper changing, bathing, everything. Everyone sings Barney's Clean Up song, right? Aaron will not clean up unless it is sung. I think this must just be a universal truth. Kids get music. I sure know Aaron does.
Aaron's birthday is less than a month away now and I have not even started planning it. I just don't know what to do. I have baked and decorated a special cake for Kirk's and Aaron's birthdays for years now and I want to keep up the practice. I didn't make one for Kirk's birthday last year and I really feel bad about it. I fell like I am running out of ideas. I think it makes the birthday special, but what to do? Aaron loves Blue's Clues and Teletubbies. I'm thinking of doing something along those lines, but what? I guess I could do a simple cake with paw prints or a round cake with a tubbietoast look. I'm not thrilled with either of these idea's but if I have to, I will.
