Jenna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 5, 2000

We had family in town this weekend and boy did we have fun. Aaron spent time with this cousin who is four days older than he. They were quite a team. They raised Cain. They ran and yelled and played football. Then they took a bath. It is amazing how a tub can become a water park with the addition of two toddlers.

Anne is the baby of the family and was treated as such. She has been held and kissed and loved to no end. Her great-grandparents were visiting and between them and her grandparents and her aunts and uncles, wow. I didn't have to change one diaper, kiss one boo-boo or hold her beyond nursing time. It was a nice vacation for me. I'm glad to have her back to myself now. She just cut her fourth tooth on Sept. 3. She has been working on that tooth for two weeks.

Kirk had the worst of it. Not that the worst was too bad. My little sister, his aunt, is only six years older than he and they fight like brother and sister. When Kelly, his 7-year-old cousin, and Chris, his 13-year-old cousin, were both around, things ran much more smooth, but when it was just three of them ... well, lets just say Kirk got the raw end of the deal.

We got to talk to DH on Sunday night. It was nice to hear from him and Kirk was glad to get a chance to talk. DH gets off work at 8 p.m. pacific and we live in the eastern time zone, so Kirk is asleep hours before he gets home during the week. Kirk is missing his daddy so much. I hope we will get to go see him very soon.

Aaron has just noticed a picture in my grandma's living room. It is a family pic we had done when I was pregnant with Anne. Every now and then, he brings me the picture and we talk about Daddy and he gives his daddy a kiss. I think they need to see Wes as bad as Wes needs to see them.
