Jenna's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

August 30, 2001

In just about a week Anne will be a valley girl. Aaron will be. . .I can't think of anything, but he'll be living in sunny southern California. I can tell you what Aaron will be--reunited with his father and that is all that matters. It will be heaven. . . with just a little hell mixed in. I know it won't be easy, but it'll be right. The kids will have a father in the physical since. I'll have a husband and you better believe we'll find a way to make it in the physical since. Life will be so strange. It's been so long. I hope we haven't forgotten how to be a family. It's like riding a bike, right?

We are so close to being ready to go. I have almost everything packed. I know what is going and what is not. Most of what is getting left behind is in the storage unit. We have just enough clothes left out to get us through the next 6 to 9 days. I'm going to buy the tickets on Monday and then, we're off. Well, Kirk and I are off on Wednesday. Mom and Anne are off on Thursday and Dad and Aaron are off on Friday or Saturday.

I think I have found a church in Newhall. It is about a 20 min drive from Van Nuys. I've spoke to the pastor via e-mail and he's seems great. It is not too big a church, in fact it's pretty small, about 200 on Sunday mornings. They have programs that I'm excited about and--I think--opportunities for involvement. They have nursery for Anne, Toddler Church for Aaron, and Children's Church for Kirk. They have Children's Bible Quizzing that Kirk can be involved in and Wednesday night activities. I'm so pumped up. I think finding a new church is such an important part of moving and I'm excited that we'll be able to go out there and already have a place in mind. A place were they are expecting us and a place where they offered to help us with moving. Yah!

I better go. Anne and Aaron are trashing the room and I detect a certain smell. A man will work from sun to sun, but a woman's work is NEVER done.
