Well, our long wait is coming to an end. In about three weeks, the kids and I are moving to Los Angeles to live with Wes. Before I tell you all about those plans, I want to tell you about my trip to visit him.
I told you that I was going to visit him at work, right? (Yes, I did.) Well, I went and met his friends. They are all pretty nice and one of his closest friends is really hot! (If there are any single ladies out there in the LA area looking for a charming, funny, very very cute guy; let me introduce you to Pete Ferrell.) I got to see the really big alien that they are working on--very cool. I played with one of the coffee drinking, cigarette smoking, worm aliens. I went to see Planet of the Apes with Wes and his work buds. If you have seen it, DH made the underwater monkey. . .I mean ape. We ate out for every meal. We went to two other movies, visited Hollywood, hung out at Universal Studios and City Walk. It was GREAT!
Right now Wes is working on set. He watched Tommy Lee Jones film last night. Is that cool or what?
Well, I have gotten rid of or packed most of our belongings. We are not taking any furniture with us because we are not going to drive. We're flying out. We are taking 8 boxes and a couple of suitcases and that is it. Our good furniture is either staying with my Mom or going into storage. The rest is going to the Church's thrift store. I have given away so much stuff. The best part is, we are getting to start all over from scratch. I've limited the items we're taking with us. We are only taking the bare necessities. I have even limited the toys. We have one small box of toys and that is it. Can you imagine?
Kirk and I are flying out on 9/5. My Mom will fly out with Aaron the very next day. Anne will come out with dad two days later on 9/8. I am buying tickets for the kids. They will not be lap riders on this trip. When my dad flies out, my Mom will go strait back home with him. And then it will be just the five of us.
I turned in my notice at work yesterday. It felt good.
I guess since this is my toddler diary, I should write some about my toddlers. It is just hard to write about them and not do it in the light of this move. All I can think about Anne is how much she has changed since her father has seen her last. She's 21 months old. She is talking more and more every day. She loves coloring. She loves babies. She loves make-up. I have a glitter lip gloss and a sparkely white eye pencil that I put on her when she sees me putting my make-up on. She loves having her nails painted. She and I both have purple toe nails.
Aaron is getting more logical. He can express himself so well. He loves watching baseball. In fact he goes to sleep every night watching the Atlanta Braves play. The last thing we talked about last night as he drifted off was a home run.
Anne has a "friend" at work. It's a little girl named JaciLynn. As they were leaving yesterday, she told her mommy that she needed to go tell her friend bye. That is so neat. I don't think Aaron has any friends as such, but that is just boys for you. They just all run and play and get in trouble together. It is just thier way.
I better go. Hopefully I'll find the time to write again before we leave.
Jenna
