Jenna's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
August 2, 2002
We were out for close to three hours today. Anne has been wearing panties out in public for quite a while now, but we we're brave enough to allow Aaron to do so. The only way to keep him dry at home is to leave him naked. It may sound bad--I must admit that I'm embarrassed to admit it--but if he has underwear, shorts, or a pull-up on, he'll pee in it. If he's in the buff, he knows he doesn't have that safety net, so he'll go to the potty. Okay, back to the subject. We took Aaron out today wearing underwear. Of course he wore other cloths, too. Usually this would be setting one's self up for a fall, but today... Today Aaron stayed dry! We called my parents when we got home, just to brag.
In just a few days Aaron will be starting Head Start. It's a half day pre-kindergarten program. I have orientation on the 9th and then we'll find out when the school year will start for him. I guess technically it could be a few weeks. Still, we're very excited.
Today, Aaron took off his socks and shoes. When Wes asked him where they were, he replied. "The grim grinning ghost stole them and threw them away." You may ask "What does a grim grinning ghost do?" If you asked Aaron, he'd tell you "He comes out to terrorize." For those who need an explanation--as I did--here it is. The Grim Grinning Ghosts are from Disney's The Haunted Mansion. Wes was online the other day and found the song a line from which states "the grim grinning ghosts come out to terrorize." I have a feeling that Aaron's going to give me enough material over the next 15 years to write a book. We already have his "friend monster" who lives under the couch, his "powers," and now Grim Grinning Ghosts that steal socks. And that was just in 2 weeks.
Aaron has had four terrible nose bleeds over the past 5 days. My house looks like a crime scene. I have clothes and sheets I don't know will ever come clean. My bath room would glow like daylight if lumenol was to be applied, and I'm still finding little blood smears in the strangest places. We were told to try putting Vaseline in his nose. We're in the desert where it is very dry and very hot. The idea is, if his membranes are just too dry, the Vaseline will help and if not, we can go to the doctor. We'll see what happens.
I've written so much about Aaron and I just don't have anything to write about Anne right now. I'll just say that I love her and once Kirk and Aaron and both in school, we'll have all the time in the world--or at lest an hour or two--to find something to write about.
