DH and I are going through some not-so-great times right now and I am afraid the fault is mine. I think the basis of all this mess is job envy. Job envy is what SAHM's sometimes go through when they begin to feel like TAHM's (Trapped at Home Moms.) It is all fairly funny if you look at it from an outside point of view. I spent the past few years urging DH to let me stay at home with the kids and now that I have what I want, DH is still getting in trouble. The problem is that the overly emotional side of me, that is the female side, is angry and jealous that he is able to go to work and "have a break" from the children while I am with them 24/7. Sure, it is reasonable for me to want to have time out of the house and away from the responsibilities of parenting and housework. But when I get those opportunities I don't take them. The fault is mine, but I still blame DH. I know this is crazy. DH gets these passive aggressive attacks from me and he is wondering what he is doing wrong. I'll tell you what he has done wrong. Nothing. I'm sorry honey. I love you.
I did get a night away from the kids tonight. My mom and I went out for dinner and shopping. When I got home, the babies were in bed and DH and Kirk were playing video games. It felt so wonderful to have "grown-up time."
Aaron spent the night with his grandma Cindy Saturday night. He put on quite a show. My mom sat in the bathroom and watching him climb in and out of the shower for 30 min. He would get in, shut the door, open the other door, climb out, shut the door, open the door, climb in, etc.... He watched the Three Stooges with his grandpa and thought it was terribly funny. My parents and sister and Aaron all had a marvelous time.
