Jen B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

December 13, 2000

Once there was a family who had a day so busy, it made their heads spin! It started at 5 in the morning, when the mommy woke up for no reason and couldn't get back to sleep. She got out of bed at 6:30 to get ready for the day. She and her little boy went to church, and the mommy's confirmation class students were supposed to help the smaller kids make ornaments. They made ornaments and sang songs for two hours. Mommy thought she'd throw up if she touched another drop of glue, or even looked at another pipe cleaner.

Then they went home to pick up Daddy and they all went to the Mother-in-Law's house. The little boy, Jacob, cried and clung to Mommy's leg for 15 minutes after they got there. When he realized his parents weren't going to leave him, he played with his cousin while Daddy and his uncle put up his grandma's Christmas tree. Grandma was driving Mommy and her SIL nuts, so they went shopping.

The clock struck 4, and Mommy, Daddy and Jacob left Grandma's house to go to his Nana's house. He was happy to be at Nana's and play with his Auntie's doggies, but got upset when Mommy slipped off to change clothes. When Mommy came out, she was dressed up in a pretty dress, and looked very fancy. Daddy even wore a tie! Jacob knew they were going somewhere special, and that he would not be coming, so he cried and cried.

Mommy and Daddy went to a party for Daddy's work. It was a nice party, and they had really good food. They even had a magician, who was one of Daddy's customers. He was very good. When the party was over, Mommy and Daddy hurried back to Nana's house to get Jacob. He was still awake (at 9:30), and was very happy to see Mommy and Daddy. While Mommy changed her clothes again, Nana gave Daddy their Christmas present. It was a very nice video camera. She said she gave it to them early, so they'd have it for their trip to Florida.

Mommy and Daddy were excited, and couldn't wait to try it out. But it was late, and Daddy had to work the next day, so he and Mommy and Jacob all went home.

We're still exhausted from all the shopping, packing, and cleaning that we have to do before we leave. I'm excited, though. Jacob doesn't seem to have a clue what he's in for, despite the books we read to him about airplanes and Christmas. He'll be excited enough when the time comes. I just hope the nasty weather coming our way doesn't affect our flight, or our ability to get to the airport.

Well, I've got to get the little man down for his nap so I can try to get his scrapbook up to date before our trip.

Jen & Jacob =)
