Jen B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 29, 2000

We just got back from taking Jake to the doctor. He was so good, even though he got two shots. Of course, I cheated a bit. I held a lollipop in front of him while the nurses "went after" him. As soon as he noticed he'd been stuck, he started to cry, but I ripped off the wrapper, and stuck the lolli in his mouth. That quieted him pretty quick.

He now weighs 21 lbs, 6 oz., and is 30.75" tall. The doc is pleased with his progress, though I was reminded to limit his intake of juice. That's gonna be fun, because while he'll drink watered down juice, he just doesn't want to drink plain water. Guess I'll have to buy bottled.

I have to brag a bit. We went to the library yesterday for story time, and we got there a bit early so I was looking for some books to check out. Jacob took off on me, and headed right up the ramp to the story time room -- I followed him, and he got there all by himself. He looked around the room, saw no one else was there, and decided to leave. How funny! I was so proud that he found his way on his own, but exasperated that he just walked off on me. I'm gonna have to watch this one carefully, huh?

We have a busy weekend planned, but I'm excited about it. We're putting up the tree Friday night (or sooner if I can talk Chris into it), and Saturday we're leaving Jacob with his Grandma so we can shop for him. We also need to finish shopping for the adults on our list. I've pretty much got all of Chris's stuff, except for stocking stuffers.

Got to get back to those Christmas cards while Jake is busy playing with the dog.

Jen & Jacob =)
