Jen B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

October 3, 2001

What a long day we had yesterday! It seemed like everything that could go wrong did! I finally had the energy to get some REAL cleaning done around the house, but Jake was in no mood to let me. Every time I turned around I was tripping over him. When he wasn't underfoot, he was into trouble. Ugh.

Then I went for my 36wk checkup. I was hoping the doc would set a date for induction, but no progression = more waiting. So I was extremely disappointed and more than a little irritable. Jake was still in a whiny mood, so that didn't help.
We got home, and our neighbor came over to take a look at our leaky pipe. For about a month now, we've had water dripping down through our kitchen ceiling from the upstairs bath. Chris and I figured it was coming from the shower, so we started using the one downstairs. While they're cutting the kitchen ceiling up, I'm trying to keep Jake out of the way. Not an easy feat, since he was very interested in what was going on.

Kevin (our neighbor) ended up having to leave before they were sure where the leak was, which leaves my kitchen off limits. Chris took pity on me, and took us to McDonalds, and then to Kmart to pick up some last minute things for the baby.

What finally got me to feeling better was an email from Carolyn. She was telling me about Kailey's first day in preschool. She learned the letter A and would be learning B today. Wow, I thought to myself, Jacob's a year and a half younger and already knows most of his letters! The little guy can also count to ten by himself, and is now working on 20. All his teens sound pretty much the same, though. Hey, he's only two . . .
