Jen B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

June 16, 2001

Jacob has a new favorite word, and it's "no". Unfortunately, he's been hearing it a lot, as he's gotten to be quite the daredevil. So now his response to every question is NO, even if he means yes. It's almost funny sometimes, but I dare not laugh (or let him catch me at it).

He also has a new pediatrician, come September. I really liked the Dr. we met with on Thursday, and would have transferred Jake's records immediately if it weren't for the heart murmur thing. Dr. Chun recommended that until Jake has his next appointment, that I keep him with his current pediatrician. He said that if he took over the referral, I would have to drive to Hershey for Jake's follow up with the cardiologist, which he didn't think would be a good idea for me to do while eight months pregnant. I was also impressed when he told me he automatically tests newborns for Cystic Fibrosis. Chris and I already got tested for the gene, and we know that he's not a carrier and I am. Still, it's good to know they test for that, especially since it's painless and can make sure a CF child gets proper treatment right away.

I've spent the last two days cleaning the house top to bottom, in preparation for our trip tomorrow. I'm more excited about going to pick up my (belated) birthday present today. Mom said she'd go with me, so it should be a nice little drive. Jake needs to get used to being in the car for awhile, anyway.

Right now the little man is opening and closing the screen doors, which he's been told not to do numerous times. I have a feeling he's gonna' be a real handful today, which will make packing for the trip lots of fun (not).

Guess I'd better go get him . . .
