Well, my birthday definitely made up for my Mom's Day. It was almost perfect! I got some birthday money from family, so I decided to go shopping. I decided to look for a maternity swimsuit for our beach trip this summer. I didn't bother to get one with Jake, even though we lived right on the lake. We just never went swimming.
I did find a suit that was okay, but it was the sale price that grabbed me. It was about the same price I paid for my regular suit last year. I also got a cute pair of
capri pants to go with a top I already had.
I had enough money left to lunch with Jake. He loves eating out, and was so much fun. I know I won't have many more opportunities to do things like that with him, so it was really special. He charmed all the waitresses, and ate very well. Then we went home for a nap.
I was putting away my purchases before taking a nap myself when the doorbell rang. It was my sister!!! She stopped by to bring me her gift and visit with me. And it really was a nice visit, we got along so well. She also brought a book for Jake, which she showed him when he woke up. To me, that was a better gift than the foot care stuff she got me (which will come in very handy).
When Chris came home, we all went out to eat at a Mexican place (my pick). We had a good dinner, and Jake was entertaining as usual. He really went to town, eating his ice cream--and doing quite well with the spoon, I might add!
We got home, and I opened my card and gift. I got a new James Patterson novel, which I can't wait to read. I love his books. Chris said he still owed me a gift, but he has to wait until he gets paid again to get it. I really didn't mind.
It looks like I'll be going shopping a lot this week. My sister just called to invite
me along with her and my mom when they go to Allentown tomorrow to find a gift for Jim's birthday. On Thursday, Chris and I have to go food shopping, and pick up the rest of the house stuff we need, plus some things for our housewarming on Saturday.
It should be an interesting week . . .
Jen & Jacob =)
