The move is OVER, and we are officially homeowners!!! Talk about a stressful week. Besides rushing to get everything packed in time, we found out the day before closing that the bank underestimated our closing costs by $2300! Thankfully, we were able to come up with the money, but things will be pretty tight for awhile.
The closing itself went well, and the sellers turned out to be very nice people. After that, we went to pay for the moving truck and ran by the new house. We put up our mailbox and painted Jake's room. I forgot how much I hate painting, but it was worth it. I'm hoping to get the border put up this weekend, and take some photos of the house to post on our website--here too, if I remember.
The move went pretty well and I behaved myself. I pretty much directed traffic, and emptied/filled the fridges. By Sunday, we had the majority of our stuff settled. Now we just have to get all of Chris's stuff put away. We also need to get some cabinets/shelving, too.
I had an appt. with the OB nurse today. Since I'm switching back to Doc Smith, we had to do all the paperwork stuff. The nurse kept getting confused about my due date. She wanted to use that stupid pregnancy wheel, even though I'd already had an ultrasound to determine the date. Then she scheduled me for the AFP test (I think on the wrong week) and an internal with the Dr. I DO NOT need another internal, and am hoping he changes his mind after reviewing my records. Ugh.
Other than that, I've been wandering around this big ole' house wondering what to do next. It just hasn't sunk in yet that this place is really ours, and we get to stay here. Guess it will once the mortgage bill comes, eh??? Jake has had no such qualms. He acts like he's been here all his life, and is into everything. It's so much fun seeing him actually have room to play. I just wish he didn't like the stairs so much!
He's feeding himself yogurt right now--with a spoon! He's getting so big. =)
Jen & Jacob =)
