Jen B's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 24, 2001

Well, our trip to Cape Cod was lovely, weather-wise. Otherwise, it was . . interesting. Turns out I was the only woman at our B&B who brought a man!!! I've nothing against gays or lesbians, and the folks there were very nice. But it just wasn't how I planned to spend my anniversary weekend. So Chris and I did the touristy stuff (Martha's Vineyard, downtown shops) and stuck to our room in the evenings.

Jake had a great time with his Grandma Connie. She took him to the zoo with his Aunt Carolyn and Cousin Kailey. He also went out to dinner, which is one of his favorite things to do. He was so happy to see us when we picked him up, but no more than we were to see him.

When we got home, Jake was plastering himself to the windows, because he noticed the neighbors were out on their deck. Their grandson and his parents (Jake's godparents) were over there, too. So we dropped in to say hi and give them our new address and phone number. Jake and Alex had a blast chasing each other all over the deck and playing on Alex's slide. It was good for Jake to play with someone his own age. I also liked that it tired him out.

Only 3 days until the big move. I still have lots of packing to do, but I think we'll be ready. I took Jake to story time at the library today for the last time, and it felt kinda' sad. I hope the library in E. Stbg. will have a similar program. And I actually think I'll miss our neighbors, even though I'd really started to get annoyed with some of them.

I'm also getting sentimental while packing up Jake's winter clothes. (Yes, the warm weather is here to stay--finally!) He's growing so fast. I just hope I don't get so busy with the new baby that I miss something. Does that make sense?

Since I'm not sure I want the answer to that, I'll sign off for now.
