Spring is here--finally!! Today was so beautiful, we just had to get outside. Unfortunately, I had to spend the morning on the phone, getting all our utilities set up for the new house. But this afternoon, we walked to the mailbox. And Jake walked the entire 1/2 mile (round trip). Boy, does that kid have energy.
We got out to the new house on Saturday to take some measurements, and the little guy had such a blast climbing the steps and running around the yard. It thrills me to know how much he'll enjoy living there.
Then we dropped Jake off at my mom's and met a friend for dinner and a movie. We had fun, but so did Jake. He learned two more words (the names of my aunt's dogs).
Yesterday was too funny, though. My confirmation class read the Passion play during the Palm Sunday service, and the girl that had the biggest part was absent, so I had to fill in. That meant I had to stand up at the pulpit, but had no one to watch Jake. So he followed me up there & clung to my leg. That was fine, but then he decided to start wandering around the altar, and proceeded to walk up and down the aisles. It was all I could do to keep a straight face.
He stole the show last night, too. It was movie night for my class, and Jake had a major snack attack. He managed to get into the potato chips, the popcorn, and even tried to drink out of any soda cans that were within his reach. He would also climb into the lap of anyone who'd take him. At least he's not shy! I was half afraid he'd have a tummyache this morning, but he was fine. I guess I'm a bad mommy for letting him get into all that stuff, but I don't let him have junk food that often.
So much for the nice spring weather, a thunderstorm just started up. Better log off!
