Jen's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 13, 2000

It may just be a phase, but it appears as if naps may be a thing of the past. Sigh. Please let it be a phase, please let it be a phase! The good part is that when he doesn't nap, he goes to bed earlier, so at least that's something.

Oh, Jason has a nickname. If you point to Steve and ask what his name is, Jason will say "Daddy!" If you point to me, he'll say "Mama!" If you point to him, he'll say "Wawa!" It cracks Steve and me up, and we couldn't figure out where it came from until I asked his day care provider about it. Apparently the other kids have been calling him "Wawa" for a long time now as their special name for him. Hey, if it makes them happy, and he likes it, so be it. "Wawa" it is.

Jason's been really fun to be around lately, even without the naps! He's really into conversations, and it's just so neat to have him explain something to me, even if I really don't know what he's talking about. His sense of make believe has also grown, and when he's in the car, there's this little blue bear that he'll talk to, and have talk back in a high squeaky voice. Also, he loves running circles around us -- literally! If we're standing in a group he'll go round and round, giggling the whole time.

We sign off paperwork for our house today, and should close Friday or Monday, so soon he'll have plenty of room to run!
