Jen's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |

Wow, in two days, I'll have been writing this diary for a year! Amazing, since I've never done anything like this before. What a year it's been too -- Jason's gone from barely walking to running, 8 teeth to 16, saying a few words to short sentences using more words than I can count, his little size 4 shoes to size 7, and so much more. For me personally it's been a packed year as well -- I've ventured into home buying territory, decided to change my work status, lost one pregnancy and am more than halfway through another. Hmmm, I wonder what the next year will be like?
Jason is doing well, though he's been a little grumpy the past few days. ! I know it's not good to laugh at poor behavior, but Steve and I couldn't help it when he said in a very demanding voice, "Me, water, okay?" I guess I feel like I've got a little more equanimity about it this time though, and that I've got the confidence that this is a temporary thing. Still, I would not be unhappy if it passes soon!
He's getting really interested in the potty, though we're not pushing him. He does seem to be more aware of bathroom functions now, and when he announces that's they are underway, we'll ask if he wants to use his potty. Sometimes he does want to, though usually he just sits on it and doesn't do anything. Last night was pretty funny though, he was sitting on the seat, and seemed to just be playing, so I asked if he was done. He said yes, got up and grabbed some toilet paper and put it in the little bucket. He hadn't done anything, and didn't wipe himself, but I think he's slowly getting the idea.
In other amusing notes, he gave us another story to embarrass him with when he's older. He woke up early one morning, so we just let him run around the room while we tried to wake up. At one point he got his sleeper off and was trying remove his diaper, so we obliged him. He ran around a little more, then climbed onto our bed, stood in the middle of it, grabbed himself, and pulled while saying "Vroom, vroom!" Oh man, we were dying we were laughing so hard. From what I've heard from other moms with little boys, this is only the beginning!
