Jen's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

June 19, 2000

I have to say that Jason is going through a stage. He has been such a cranky boy the past few days. I'm not totally sure what's going on, it could be teething given the river that goes down his shirt, but I just don't know. Maybe it's just the age, and we'll be dealing with it for a while, which would be something of a bummer -- I miss my sweet boy!

I often wonder if maybe he knows that something is up, particularly about the pregnancy. He's been wanting to be carried and held a lot more, and seems to need his pacifier more, which he had been weaning off of. I feel much better now, so I'm trying to give him loads of attention and love. He's still my baby, even if there's another one on the way!

We've started the pre-approval process for buying a house, and I'm sure that's going to be a disruption for him. I'm trying to figure out the best way to transition him, but it may be tough. The house we're in is going to be rebuilt, and if construction happens before we can move into our new place, we'll have to live somewhere else in the interim. Originally we were just going to stay with my MIL for as long as it took, but she's having some serious problems with cancer, and I don't know if that will be too much for her or not. She's a really wonderful lady, and I just don't want to add any stress to her life right now. On the other hand, maybe it would be useful to have us around so that we could help out. I don't know, but I hope we figure something out.

He had a well baby check up last week, here's the update I posted to my email list:

He's at 35 1/8" and 28 lbs. It's amazing to me how much he's moved up the growth curves since his kidney surgery. When his kidney was really getting affected, he was in the 10% for both height and weight, 6 months later he had moved to 40% and 30%, and now he's at 75% and 50%. Doctor said he was doing great, and to keep doing what I have been.
