Jen's Diary Entries

May 10, 2000

I was looking at Jason's hand the other night and it stuck me how little he still is. I've been so focused on how much he's grown, and all the things he can do now, that sometimes it surprises me that he's just a little boy. I wonder what it will be like when I have an even tinier little one to hold.

The big news is that Jason pooped in the potty for the very first time today -- hooray! He did it at his day-care, and Debbie called to tell me all about it, LOL. Apparently he was doing his usual pre-poop grunt, and Deb asked him if he needed to poop. He said yes, so she asked him if he wanted to try and sit on the potty, and he did. He was a little startled when he got splashed, and ended up back in the diaper, but I was blown away. I didn't even think he was close to potty training at all. We're not going to push it, but if he's interested and willing to try, it seems logical to let this continue. I guess we need to get one of those trainer seats so he doesn't fall in. I can only imagine how traumatic that might be.

Oh, his day-care provider did a great job on his hair, by the way. He looks so dashing, and so much older. Jason's just growing so fast!
