Jen's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
January 12, 2000
Well, to continue his affinity with the other denizens of the earth, my son has decided to speak to cats. Yes, my son doesn't speak much human yet, but he can meow, though there's more of an "n" sound to it -- maybe he knows something we don't. I swear it's the cutest thing, he cocks his head to one side, and out comes this sweet little "Neowww." What's interesting to me is that the way he says it sounds more like an actual kitty. I wonder if that will change.I still don't know if Jason's totally weaned or not yet -- but he hasn't nursed in 5 days now, so I'm guessing that this is it. I really don't feel bad about the end of the nursing relationship -- it was Jason's decision, and I just encouraged it by seeing if something else would satisfy him. If he really wanted to nurse, I would let him. The past few times he's asked, I've offered, and he'd just tap me, then go about his business. My theory is that he just needed the reassurance that he still had access to what was a comfort to him for so long.
For me, I think one reason that I'm not missing it at all is that I'm looking forward to the next nursing relationship. Even if I don't get pregnant right away, it's in the back of my head, that nine months down the road I could have another nursling to hold. We only plan on having 2 children, so I suspect that the next weaning will be more emotional for me.
Well, just a short entry this week -- it's busy at work right now!
