Hi Everyone,
Good news, we're officially potty training!!! I was not at all prepared for this step, but apparentally Kayla is. She told me yesterday she had to pee and started to undress. I thought why not, so I took her up to the toilet and she pooped, she later peed for her father. I thought yesterday was just a fluke because she's only 22 months, but the first thing she wanted to do this morning was go pee on the toilet. She went through so many diapers because everytime I put one on her, she ripped it off. So I broke down and went out and got her a potty chair, a seat for the toilet and some pullups. She is soooo proud of herself. She keeps pulling down her pull up and sitting on her potty then running over to give me a high five. It is so adorable. I don't know what I'm going to do, I have had at least one child in diapers for almost six years straight. I don't know if I'm ready to get rid of that part of my life yet. My dh and I decided that Kayla is going to be our last baby, so I kind of wanted her to be a "baby" a little longer, but she's growing up, ready or not!!!
I guess it's time to get rid of the bottle. I know she should be off it by now but she loves it so much, I hate to take it away!! She's never been on the binky, she doesn't have a special toy or blanket, her bottle is her security. I feel mean taking it away. I didn't have any problems with the boys with the bottle, but they loved them spill proof cups. The problem is Kayla Hates them. I've tried everyone on the market, she was just not happy with any of them. Does anyone have any suggestions? They would be greatly appreciated.
Well I'm home sick today, and probably will be for a couple of days. I think I have the flu, which is nooo fun. I'm trying to stay away from the kids so they won't get it, but it's impossible. They are always all over me and don't understand that they can't do that right now. They think I'm being mean to them. Also Kayla must sense that I'm not feeling well because she is constantly with me. Every time I turn around, she's right there. If I try to lay down, she lays right on top of me. It's really not easy being sick and a mommy at the same time. I guess it's true that being a mom is a 24 hour 7 day a week job, with no vacation days.
Well thanks for reading, I'm going to try to get some rest!!
Janis and Kayla...the big girl!!!
