Janis's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

November 11, 2004

Hi Everyone,
Well sorry the last entry was a bummer, but I had alot I had to get out. I felt so much better after writing that entry.
Well anyway, the past few weeks have been a mess. Within 2 hours of writing the last entry, I was in the ER with chest pains and trouble breathing. Being overweight, my first thought was a heart attack! Turns out I had a viral infection that traveled to my lungs!! What fun. I have never felt so weak in my life then I do from this illness. I went to the Dr. two days later which was Wednesday, and they told me I would be fine by Monday to go back to work!! THANKGOD, I had just missed almost 2 weeks due to my stepmom's death, went to work for one day, and now this. Well Monday came, and I felt absolutely no better, I almost felt worse. I decided to lay around all day in hopes I would feel better the next day. Well the next day, just as bad, so I called the Dr again. They told me to go to the ER AGAIN!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!! Well turns out.....after numerous tests...AGAIN, that the virus caused bruising in my chest and lungs....talk about pain, and on top of it, my asthma is acting up.......this doesn't make for a happy Mommy.
Well on to Kayla. She's literally had a cold for the past month. We made her an appointment on Wednesday, just in case this cold was turning into something more. Thankfully it is just a cold.....BUT.... this Doctor also heard a heart murmur, so we will bw going tomorrow for an echocardiogram...I am so sad and scared for my little girl, but I do think it is best to find out if it is something serious. The good thing is that the Dr. thinks that this is nothing serious because he only heard it when she was laying down, which usually indicates a functional murmur. I hope that there is nothing seriously wrong with her, it would really kill me!!!

HALLOWEEN
Halloween was a hit this year for Kayla. She was a purple unicorn, and absolutely aborable. She stopped in between every house to check out what piece of candy she just received from that house. Very cute, but frustrating after about the 20th house.
Her brothers were very cute too, Andrew was a Mummy ( very convincing I might add ) And Joshua was a cowboy, and let me tell you, he looked absolutely beautiful. Definately my favorite costume that any of my kids have ever worn. And Thomas was my personal candy giver.

POTTY TRAINING

Well I am happy to report that Kayla is officially potty trained. She has been going during the day for about 2 weeks, but for the past 4 nights she has also been out of diapers, and has not wet the bed once. I am so proud, but sad at the same time. This is the first time in almost 7 years that I have not had a child in diapers. Where have my babies gone. How did they grow up so quick, and where was I when this was happening????
Kayla was definately my earliest potty trained child. she is 2 years and nine months. I know it has something to do with her being a girl, but it was definately easier this time around. I am so very proud of my little girl, and she is also very proud of herself too. She keeps saying I the big girl, I not baby, I not wear diapers no more. Too cute, I must tell you.

Kayla's talking has taken off lately. She is now saying full paragraphs. She truly amazes me. She can sing songs now, word for word. A few of her favorites are Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle little Star, Three little Monkey's (when you get to the Dr's part, she makes a big deep voice), and Little Bunny Fufu (not a very good song, but she LOVES it).
Well I know I had more to say, but of course I forget.
I will write soon,
Janis and Kayla
