Hi Everyone!
Once again it has been over 2 weeks since my last entry. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth, I've just been very busy. October - January is the busiest time of the year for me and December is always the most hectic.
Things are changing every day at Josh's daycare facility as they prepare to close down. One thing that I have learned through this experience is that if you hear that your child's school or daycare will be closing down, get them out as soon as possible. It is heart breaking to see all of Josh's friends and teachers leave one at a time. A clean break would have been so much easier. There are currently about 20 children enrolled, down from 113 when we were first informed of the pending closure. Last week I had to ask that the teacher put Josh's family board back up on the wall. The family board is a poster made by the parents which includes pictures of extended family. Each child has one and Josh loves to point out the different family members to his friends. All of these posters were pulled down, along with the children's art work to return to the parents. I had a discussion with the teacher and the director and I felt like I had to remind them that they are not closed yet! I know there are only about 2 1/2 weeks left but Josh still attends daily and I expect quality care for my child until the end. Since my discussions with them things have been a bit better. The walls are full of art work, projects and family pictures and there are plenty of toys and books for the kids to enjoy. We have also been told that by December 22nd enrollment is expected to drop again, so there should be about 10 children left in the entire school (ages ranging from infant to kindergarten). As of Friday, all of Josh's original teachers have left the school and moved on to other jobs. He is now being cared for by the director, assistant director and a teacher from another classroom. I am anxious to put this experience behind us and begin at Josh's new school. The only reason I haven't placed him there yet is because they won't have room for him until January 2nd, so we will have to hang on a little longer.
We went to Utah a week ago to visit some friends and Josh had his first snow experience! Although it was not snowing in the city where we stayed, we took a drive up to Park City and stopped at an inner tube resort. They provided the inner tubes and actually had lifts that would drag us up the hill while sitting in the tubes. Josh keep falling asleep on the way up and we would have to wake him up before sliding down the hill. We all had a great time, but Josh seemed to prefer making snowmen and snow angels over the inner tubes. I was worried that he would be cold, but we bundled him up pretty well and he stayed warm and dry.
While we were away, we attended a Christmas party. The surprise guest was Santa. Josh's eyes were the size of saucers when he saw Santa burst through the door! I didn't think he would, but sure enough Josh climbed right up in Santa's lap, confirmed that he had been a good boy and that he wanted trucks for Christmas. I would say this was the highlight of the party for all of us! It is so great to see the kids so excited.
On the TTC front, I am on day 20. I'm not expecting much from this cycle because John had a business trip to Boston, which happened to land right on my 2 peak days. Bummer! We DTD on the 2 moderate days prior to him leaving, so I am hoping for long living sperm, but I'm not too hopeful this cycle.
That's it for this week! Thanks for reading.
