Hi Everyone!

Well, Josh is now 17 months old! He is almost a a year and a half. He is talking more and has added several words to his vocabulary. When I tell him "No!" he repeats it right back to me! I have to be more careful than ever what I say around him because he absorbs everything!

His new favorite character is Elmo. He has several books and toys with Elmo in them and we recently bought a video of "Elmo's World". He has never been much of a TV or video watcher, which is fine with me. I'd rather he didn't sit in front of the TV during my precious time with him. This new Elmo video has changed all that! He now points to the TV and says "Elmo" "Elmo". It has helped me in the mornings when I am trying to get myself ready for work. I just pop in the video and I am free to put on my make up and get dressed! What a difference that has made. I have actually been on time for work! Still, I don't want him to watch for more than 1 hour a day. Our time together is limited because I work and I want us to play and have fun together when we can.

We had a great time with all the Halloween festivities this year! Before the big day, we all went to a pumpkin patch that was great fun! They had hay rides, pony rides, a petting zoo and lots of climbing toys for the kids. We decided to go in the morning and come home in time for Josh's nap that he takes at about noon. We ended up taking him home for a nap and going back to the pumpkin patch afterward to continue the fun. We had to go back, because we hadn't even picked out a pumpkin before nap time rolled around! One of Josh's new words is "punkin" so he walked around the patch saying it over and over again.

We got a big pumpkin and Josh and I carved it together. I cut the top out and he stuck his hands in all the goo! I got some good pictures, but not on the digital camera so I will have to develop and scan before I can post them. The pumpkin turned out great and we even got complements from some of our trick or treaters!

Josh dressed up like a dog for Halloween. He looked so cute and his costume kept him nice and warm too! He had a parade at his daycare. I went with him and it was lots of fun. In the evening he went trick or treating with John to 4 houses. We wanted to show him off to our immediate neighbors and he had fun passing out candy at the house with me for the rest of the night.

Josh has completely recovered from the virus he had a couple of weeks ago and is doing great. It took us about 3 days (and nights) to get him adjusted to the time change, but he has gotten used to it now and he is back to his normal schedule.

I am excited to say that in about a week I will stop taking BCP's and we will start TTC for our second child!

Wish me luck!

Janet
