Hi Everyone!
This week Josh and I got to spend the day together on a week day! I had Columbus Day (Monday) off and John had to work, so it was just Mommy and Josh. We went to an indoor play area called "Under The Sea". It was recommended by a friend of mine and we have never been able to go because it is closed for private parties on weekends. Both John and I work during the week so this was the first opportunity I had to check this place out. It was great, there was a bouncy house, a den of balls, cars and trucks for Josh to ride in and lots of other toys. We got there early because I wanted Josh to get a chance in the bouncy house before any other kids got there, but he wanted nothing to do with it. I think he was afraid of the noise that the air pump makes. Oh well, he loved the den of balls. He crawled in there and laughed as he got buried in plastic balls. We stayed for a couple of hours and then went next door for a pizza lunch. In the afternoon we visited a good friend of mine who is a SAHM. Josh played with her son while we got some time to catch up.
I love days like this when I can really spend good quality time with Josh. He is at such a fun age now and weekends just aren't enough!
On that note, I wanted to share a story about Josh that makes me laugh. A couple of weeks ago we had a breakfast potluck at my work. Everyone was signing up to bring things that required cooking time, like eggs, bacon etc. This was when John was out of town so, I really didn't want to have to get up even earlier than I already do to prepare something. I thought I would just go to our local market and pick up some Krispy Creme Doughnuts on my way into the office. They are delivered fresh every morning so that is what I signed up to bring. On the morning of the potluck I was running late and stopped off at the store. I quickly got Josh out of his car seat and jogged into the market. I see the case where they have the donughts and realize that it is going to take 2 hands to fold the box and get the doughnuts in. I quickly pull out a couple of the tissues used to get the doughnuts out and give them to Josh to play with, hoping that will entertain him for 1 minute while I quickly pile the doughnuts in the box. I put him down and move as fast as I can. I can see Josh out of the corner of my eye and I am surprised at how good he is being. I closed up the box and look down and there is my son with a big chocolate doughnut in his mouth. He must have pulled one out of the case from the bottom shelf! Wouldn't you know that he would pick a chocolate doughnut, not glazed. There I am with a box in one and and Josh in the other trying not to let him touch my powder blue suit! I had to laugh at the situation, what else can you do! Live and learn, next time I will get up early and make eggs!
That's about it for Josh this week. A brief update on me. The bleeding stopped for 3 days (yeah!) and then I got AF! It's just never ending! Oh well, I am feeling good and my last HCG test showed a dramatic decline in the hormone levels which is good at this point.
Until next week!
Janet and Josh
