Hi Everyone!

Is my child the only one who is constantly getting bumps, bruises and other injuries? I feel like there is always some mishap that results in Josh getting injured. I am thankful that the most serious injury he has had so far is stitches in his chin, but he is only 2 years old and it seems like there is some minor injury at least once a week.

It's not that we don't watch him, I feel like it is exactly the opposite. It seems to me that I am more protective than most Mothers and maybe that is because I have experienced the emergency room with Josh on more than one occasion. Anyway, this time DH and I were both there so Josh had two adults watching him. Josh had found an old cassette tape in the garage and proceeded to pull all the tape out of the cassette. DH and I didn't mind because it was an old tape and it was entertaining Josh. He managed to pull all the tape out and got it tangled around his feet. He was walking around and having fun, but DH thought he better cut the cassette off so that Josh wouldn't trip. DH got the scissors and picked up the cassette at the same time Josh started to run, so the tape pulled tight and Josh fell face first on the garage floor.

I picked him up and held him. The blood was just pouring out of his nose! I know that noses do bleed a lot as I have experienced nose bleeds first hand many times myself, but it is still hard to see all that blood and not panic. DH ran into the house and got a wet cloth and ice, but Josh wouldn't let us touch his nose at all not even to wipe away the blood. I held him for a few minutes and then he asked me to put him in the stroller. I pushed him around the neighborhood in his stroller, watching him very carefully for any signs of a head injury but he was fine. When we got home, I was able to clean his nose with some resistance from Josh. It was a little swollen, but didn't look broken to me. I called my Mom, who is a registered Nurse, and asked her some questions but she agreed that he sounded fine and there isn't much a doctor can do even if his nose had been broken.

We took Josh up to my parents house for a visit and had my Mom take a look first hand. Josh let her clean the inside of his nose with a Q-tip as she seemed to know how to do it without hurting him. I guess that talent comes with experience and a nursing degree! Josh is fine now his nose isn't bothering him at all, but he will still point to his nose if you ask him where his "ouwie" is.

Other than that incident, Josh is doing well. Saturday, DH had to work so Josh and I had the day together. We met up with one of his little friends from daycare and his Mom. The four of us went to a local farm. It was a lot of fun! Josh rode a pony, took a train ride and fed some of the animals. There was a big pumpkin patch, Josh and his friend Tanner enjoyed climbing around them, but we did not get a pumpkin to take home. I am thinking we may go back a little closer to Halloween for a good carving pumpkin.

As for TTC, today is day 12 and I got a peak reading on my fertility monitor. I am a little surprised to see a peak reading this early in my cycle, but I am all for shorter cycles (less waiting!). Again I am not real confident about this cycle, I just feel like after almost a year of TTC and 2 rounds of clomid with no results, something must be wrong. I hope that is not the case and that we get that positive sign this cycle, but I really don't want to get my hopes up only to face another disappointment.

That is all for this week, thanks for reading!
