Janet's Diary Entries

Hi Everyone!

Josh turned 16 months old last week! He looks so big to me these days! Now that he is walking I notice his size a lot more than I used to. I also notice it when he grows out of his clothes. We went from a heat wave to a cold spurt here in California in about a day! I went from dressing him in shorts and a T-shirt to digging around for something warm. Most of his warm clothes don't fit him anymore, so I have had to do laundry twice already this week to make sure he has extra warm clothes to take with him every day at day care.

Josh has added a new word to his vocabulary and he uses it all the time! He says "Horse" now. It sounds more like "arse" and at first I didn't know what he was trying to say, but we went to the bookstore the other day and he picked up a book with a picture of a horse and came toddling over to me saying "arse" "arse". It was very cute.

He has also learned a couple of new signs. He can sign "cold" and "hot", I tried to teach him the sign for diaper "change", but he hates getting his diaper changed so he isn't interested in learning that one. He doesn't like to be immobile, even if it is just for a couple of minutes to change his diaper. He would rather play with a poopy diaper, than stop playing to get changed (my crazy kid!).

John has been out of town on business this week and has been calling every night to talk to Josh on the phone. Josh smiles when he hears his his Dad's voice, but he doesn't understand the whole telephone concept completely just yet. John is scheduled to get home late tonight, so it will be nice for all of us to have him home.

As for me, I am doing okay. For those of you who read my last entry, I mentioned that I would be taking an HCG test to confirm the miscarriage. I called the lab nurse last Tuesday and she told me the numbers were decreasing which meant I was having a normal miscarriage and I should pass everything on my own. I got a call from the Doctor telling me that the results given to me on Tuesday were incorrect and my HCG numbers had actually doubled! I thought this was good news, but found out that they should have tripled for a normal pregnancy and he had me come in for another HCG test. The numbers increased again, so yet another HCG test was scheduled (I'm feeling like a pin cushion at this point!). Finally the numbers dropped. I have an appointment with my regular OB tomorrow morning to check things out. It has been 16 days now and I am still bleeding so I may have to have a D&C after all.

The good news is that I am feeling fine and although I am still bleeding, it is not a lot of blood. It's more like I have had AF for 16 days, with no end in sight.

I'll give an update as soon as I know more.

Sending out some PG dust to Anne who is TTC for her second child!

Also, just wanted to add how thankful I am that Reilly (Jenny's daughter - From Pregnancy today) is recovering fine. She had an experience with a child care provider that seriously shook her and she had been hospitalized. Thank God she is okay!

Thanks for reading!

Janet
