Hi Everyone!
The big news this week is.....Josh went pee and poop on the toilet!!!He has been telling me sometimes when he is already in the process of going in his diaper, but this time he actually asked to sit on the toilet. I have gotten him on the toilet when he was "in the act" in the past, but this is the first time he has asked and done it on his own. DH and I were cheering him on in the bathroom and we made quite a fuss when he was done. We were giving him high fives and lots of praise. He was so excited that he was jumping around the bathroom, just so proud of himself. He happily flushed and waived bye bye as the water left the basin.
John immediately sent an e-mail out to our family and a few close friends describing this momentous occasion! After announcing the big news, he promised to forward pictures (as a joke). We got a few responses expressing their happiness of hearing the news, but requesting that we not send the photos (LOL)! Later we laughed about how happy this event made us. It's pretty funny what makes us excited these days!
This all happened on Saturday evening right before bath time. We have made it a ritual ever since to sit on the toilet before he gets in the tub. He went pee pee in the toilet on Monday, but nothing since. I don't think Josh is fully ready for potty training yet. He doesn't want anything to do with his potty, other than using it as a stepping stool so he can reach the sink. I have taken the seat portion out and put it on top of the toilet so he can sit on his own, which he seems to like best. This is a start and I am hopping over the next couple of months we make more progress.
We went to Hurricane Harbor, a local waterpark, on Sunday and Josh had a great time! I had free tickets from my office and Sunday was the last day we could use them before expiration. What I didn't know is that it was also the last day the park was opened! I thought that if I waited until the summer season was over and went on a Sunday instead of a Saturday, that I could avoid some of the crowds, but as it turned out we went on the busiest day of the year! Despite the crowds we had fun. Josh loves the water, but he doesn't like to be splashed or sprayed with water. That made some of the attractions a little less fun for him, but for the most part he loved it and there were lots of rides and areas where he could play. I haven't been there before so I was unsure about taking him at such a young age, but there were lots of young children there and a whole section of the park designed just for them.
As for TTC, I got a negative HPT on Friday and AF started on Saturday, so no luck last cycle. I am on day 5 today and my last cycle on clomid. I have an appointment with my OB scheduled for beginning of November, so if I am not PG this cycle I am going to ask him to run further tests or refer me to a specialist. At 36 years old, I just don't want to wait too long to see if there are problems as that may hold us up even longer.
Congratulations to Anne who delivered her baby boy yesterday. I am anxiously awaiting her birth story and hearing about life with 2! Welcome Owen!
Thanks for reading!
