Janet's Diary Entries

Hi Evedryone!

This week has been rather uneventful for us.

In my last entry, I wrote about Josh limping. Well, I spoke to his doctor on Wednesday of last week and he told me that if Josh was still limping Friday morning, to give him a call and he would give me a referral for an orthopedic specialist. Josh must have known the time line on this because Thursday evening the limping ended as mysteriously as it began. He is no longer limping and we never had to see the specialist.

Something funny Josh has been doing lately is pointing out buildings and houses and telling me that he built them for me. According to Josh he has been a very busy little guy, having built several structures (including major office buildings) all in the last 2 years. I am not sure where he got the idea of building like this, but we do have a couple of "Bob the builder" books that he likes. In these books Bob is never building homes or building so it must be a combination of this and something else. The part I like best is that he built them for me! After all, he could have built them for anyone and he picked his Mommy! Who knows, maybe one day he really will build me a house.

The other thing that Josh has been doing lately, is telling me that there is a bee in his ear. He always seems to tell me this while we are riding in the car, so maybe there is a humming or buzzing noise in the car where he sits. The first couple of times he said this to me I was alarmed. I checked his ears when we got home and couldn't find anything. He didn't complain again until the next time we were in the car. Then I told him to tell the be "shoo bee, go away bee I don't want you in my ear" He was happy to repeat these words and I rolled down the window and pretended to watch it fly away. I think this has become quite a fun game for Josh because now he tells me there is a bee in his ear and asks me to roll down the window. Just to be on the safe side, I had the doctor take a look in his ear and make sure there was nothing in there. After the doctor checked his ears Josh told me there were 2 bees in his ear! What a ham!

I mentioned in a previous entry that Josh is now sleeping in a toddler bed. He loves his new bed and most of the time he sleeps well without getting up, but there have been a few incidents when he wakes up and gets out of bed. We keep his bedroom door closed to keep our Cat out of his bed, and Josh can't open the door yet. We still use a monitor so we can hear him when he gets up. He will go to the door and try to turn the knob, but can't quite get it around far enough to open the door. When he realizes he can't get out on his own he calls for me "Come out Mommy. come out!" I will usually go up and put him back in bed, but sometimes he just gets back in bed on his own and goes to sleep. For the most part the new bed has been a good thing!

As for the TTC front, today is day 25 and I am a little anxious. I went in for a blood test at my OB's office last week to test progesterone levels and will get the results tomorrow. I felt nauseous all day on Saturday and I can't explain it. Of course I have attributed that to being PG, but I have learned by now not to take any symtoms too seriously at this point. If AF doesn't show up, I will test on Friday (day 29). Wish me luck! I need all I can get!

Thanks for reading!

Janet
