Hi Everyone!
Josh is limping! It is the strangest thing. I went to pick him up from daycare on Thursday and he was playing with the other kids on the playground. He came running to greet me and was visibly limping. I immediately asked him if he had fallen down he said "no Mommy" I proceeded to ask him a barrage of questions about what hurts, to no avail. He basically told me that nothing hurts. I poked and proded his foot and leg until finally he had had enough and said "Walk Away Mommy" "No Hurt!" His testaments of feeling fine gave me no satisfaction, so I went to his teacher (primary caregiver) and asked her if he had taken a fall or complained of any injury. She said that she wasn't aware of anything that could be causing the limp, and we were both baffled. I took Josh home and watched him very closely. While he continued to limp, it didn't seem to hinder his activity one bit. He was running around, wrestling with his Dad and never complained of any pain or discomfort. I called the doctor and was told that he could have strained a muscle or he could be imitaiting a limp he has seen from another child or even on television. I was told to give it a few days and if he was still limping or he ever started complaining of pain to bring him in. Well, 5 days after I originally noticed the limp he was still limping so off to the doctor we went.
We saw Josh's regular pediatrician, who I think is a great doctor, and he did a very thorough examination of Josh's legs and observed him walking. He couldn't find anything wrong but did notice the limp so he sent us up for X-rays. In retrospect I wish I would have called my husband and had him come with us for the X-rays. Josh got scared as soon as we walked into the X-ray room. Normally, they allow parents to stay with their children to comfort them during this procedure, but because there is a possibility that I am PG I had to wait out side. If DH was there he could have stayed with Josh and it would have made this experience a lot easier for both of us. Josh was inside the X-ray room screaming! "I need my Mommy!" "Let me down!" "I don't like it!" Meanwhile, I was outside the room burrying my face in my hands wishing I could make this a little less traumatic for him. I understand that the technicians have to make sure he is not moving at all for the picture, but I kept thinking "Take the picture already!!!"
Anyway, after the procedure was done Josh was fine. He was all smiles when he saw me and the nurse offered him a package of peanut butter crackers, which he was happy to accept. We were told to call the doctor the following day for the results.
Today, I called and was told the doctor would be out until tomorrow, but that the X-rays looked fine and there were no fractures or chiped bones. I will speak to the doctor tomorrow, but now I am wondering what is wrong. I guess I will have a better idea of the possibilities after I speak to the doctor tomorrow. For now, Josh is still limping.
Other than that, life has been good. We went to the beach agian on Saturday and Josh spent the evening with Grandma while John and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary. It is hard to believe that it has been 5 years already! We had a really nice dinner at a restaurant with an ocean view. Very romantic!
As for the TTC front, I am on cycle day 19 today. We hit all the peak days this cycle and I did take my clomid on days 3-7, but I am feeling a lot less confident about this cycle than I did the last month. I am not sure why, but I figure it's good because I don't want to have another major let down like I did. I have a call into my OB because he said I should come in for a blood test on day 20 (tomorrow). I think he wants the blood test to test my progesterone levels, but I am not sure.
Well, I guess that is all for this week!
Thanks for reading!
