Hi Everyone!
Tomorrow Josh will be 15 months old! I can't believe it, my baby is growing up so fast.
We took Josh to his first pro baseball game on Saturday. Some friends of ours have season tickets and couldn't use them, so they offered them to us. I didn't think Josh would sit still for long enough to really watch the game but we thought, since the tickets were free, we would give it a shot. He was mesmerized by the crowds and the applause. Any time he heard someone else clapping he would join in. It's hard to explain to a toddler that we are cheering for the Dodgers only and not the other team (LOL!). Oh well, as long as he was entertained, I didn't really care who he was cheering for! He actually lasted until the 8th inning and then we had to go. Josh was getting sick of sitting in my lap and we wanted to miss the traffic so we left early, but had a really good time none the less.
I have to add that it is time for us to give Josh a haircut. I have been putting it off because he doesn't have that much hair, but it is starting to curl up in the back. I think it looks cute, but people call Josh a girl all the time. When we were at the Dodger game, a man behind us kept telling me how well behaved my "daughter" was. Keep in mind, Josh was wearing denim overalls, with a grey shirt underneath desined with baseball, footballs and basket balls. He was also wearing a baseball cap. It was definitely a boy outfit. If I dressed a girl in the same outfit, I would expect people to call her a boy. My husband says it is because Josh is so good looking, people just automatically think he's a girl (LOL!).
As for Josh's development, he is not walking yet but is standing up on his own. He doesn't need to pull up on anything, he does it by himself and is so proud of himself! He stands up and smiles from ear to ear, then plops down on his bottom.
We have been teaching Josh sign language since he was about 6 months old. We introduce a new sign every few weeks. So far he knows: eat, milk, more (his favorite), shoes, bird and please. Now we are working on: all done and book. It's been great having him sign. It helps him to communicate without crying and it is a lot less frusterating for me when I know what he wants. I think we will start a little earlier with our next child and introduce more words regularly. It helps now that DH and I know some words so we aren't trying to learn as we teach.
Well, I guess that is all for this week. Thanks for reading!
