Janet's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

July 22, 2003

Hi Everyone!

I just realized this morning that it has been over 2 weeks since my last update. Time really flies when you are busy! I need more than 24 hours a day to get everything done that needs to be done.

Josh will be 2 years and 2 months old in a week. He is really growing up. I mentioned in one of my previous entries about his singing, but that has really blossomed recently. It is amazing to me how he picks up the words to songs and remembers them. Even popular songs he hears on the radio. It is really cute and I wish I could get it on video tape, but it is broken right now. He sings "You are my sunshine" to me. I used to sing this song to him when he was a baby and we have sung this song in the car a few times, but the other day he just belted out this song out of no where! He fudged some of the words, but really did a great job singing it. I was amazed! He also sings the alphabet song all the way through on his own and knows all the words to the theme song of "Blues Clues".

Josh doesn't watch a lot of TV/videos, but it entertains him while I fix dinner in the evenings, so if he is not helping me cook I will put a video in. His favorite has shifted lately from Sesame Street/Elmo's Word and Beauty and the Beast to Blue's Clues. I am a little disappointed with this selection myself, not because I think Blue's Clues is a bad show for kids, but it is so boring to me. Even having seen Beauty and the Beast 100 times, it was more exciting than Blue's Clues. I wouldn't care if he were watching alone, but sometimes he wants me to sit next to him and watch with him. I am trying to get him interested in Toy Story or Lion King, but so far Blue's Clues is the big favorite.

My Sister's Son Sean has been in town for the past month (he lives in Hawaii). It has been so great for Josh. He calls him Cuz Sean and they are inseperable when they are together. Sean is 11 years old, so there is quite an age gap, but Sean really has a bond with Josh and he likes taking care of him. Sean will be leaving in a week, so we will really miss him and I know it will be hard for Josh. I wish they lived closer.

We bought a new car this weekend! I had a 1996 Jeep Cherokee that I had owned for 8 years. It was a great car, but recently just started breaking down a little too often. Actually our mechanic told me it would be a good time to trade it in. I figure he knows best, so we went car shopping and bought a 2003 Acura MDX. I love it! We bought it on Sunday and Josh felt the need to break it in, so he promptly threw up in it on Monday! Oh well, I had the new car smell for about 15 minutes! The good news is that Josh doesn't seem to be sick. He has no fever, he has plenty of energy and has a healthy appetite. I think he just ate breakfast a little too fast, but my new car has officially been broken in!

As for me today is day 19 (cycle #9). John was out of town during my peak fertitlity times, but we did hit a couple of moderate fertility days. I am not expecting to be PG this cycle. I decided to postpone the clomid since John had a business trip scheduled in the middle of "O", but we are planning to try with Clomid next cycle.

That is all for now! Thanks for reading!

Janet
