Hi Everyone!
Again it has been a while since my last update. I haven't had much spare time lately in fact I only have a few minutes now to type this update.
Josh had his 2 year doctor appointment last week. It's hard to believe that we won't see the doctor again for a routine check up for another year! Josh had one shot and they pricked his finger to draw blood for an anemia test. He cried after the shot, but screamed bloddy murder when they pricked his finger (poor guy). The nurse gave him a bandaid and it is amazing how much a bandaid can make a sore better! After the nurse put the bandaid on his finger, the crying ended. He was so proud of that bandaid. After a few minutes I noticed that she had wrapped it pretty tight and I wanted to loosen it up a bit (his finger was turning purple!) He would not let me adjust it at all. As soon as I tried the crying started all over agian! I figured it would be okay to leave it on for the 10 minute ride back to day care. When we got there he was showing all his friends his bandaid and finally let me loosen it up! Now, any time he falls down or hurts himself in any way he wants a bandaid. Some times he will tell me he has an "owie" and I won't see anything, but a bandaid is a must!
Josh has started making jokes! He will tickle me or hide behind something and say "funny Mommy!" then he will just crack up laughing. He also does this when he is doing something he knows he is not supposed to do. For example, he is not allowed to stand up in the bath tub (for obvious reasons). He will squat in the tub and start standing up, when I give him that look of disapproval he smiles and says "funny Mommy!" then just laughs. It is hard to be serious and make sure he understands that this behavior is not okay, because he does make it funny!
Josh has started singing a lot lately! He will sing along to songs we hear on tapes in the car, or songs he has learned at day care. We sing a lot and I am always amazed at how many of the words he knows. He sings "the Alphabet Song" (but doesn't have all the letters down yet). He sings "Itsy Bitsy Spider", "I love Trash" (By Oscar the Grouch), "Rubber Ducky" (By Ernie), and "Elmo's World" (by Elmo, of course) just to name a few. As you can see Sesame Street is a big favorite in our house!
Josh has been playing less independently recently. He wants me to play with him. I will usually sit and play with him for a while, then I will get up and work on some chores around the house while he plays. Lately, he will come to me, take me by the hand and walk me over to where he is playing saying "Play me Mommy, play me". We have had fun playing with some of his cars, books and puzzles together. Of course, it is always fun for him to play with Daddy because he is much more physical and rough houses with him.
As for me, AF showed up about a week and a half ago. I am on day 13 and got a moderate fertility reading this morning, so I think tomorrow will be a peak day. I did see my OB a week ago and he perscribed clomid. If I am not PG this cycle then next cycle we will try the clomid again. It worked the first cycle with Josh, so I am hopefull that it won't be long now!
That's all I have time for this week, but hope to be more prompt with my entries going forward.
Thanks for reading!
Janet and Josh
