Janet's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 8, 2004

Hi Everyone!

I have to start off this entry with a complaint about iparenting. I love this site and have been a writter for several years. I enjoy keeping my diary here and have accepted the fact that pictures no longer get posted with our entries, even though the instructions indicate otherwise. With that said, I have to add that I have been asking since October of 2002 (17 months ago) for them to post a picture of Josh on my diary main page. I have re-submitted that request numerous times and even updated the picture ,as the original one is out dated by now. I have posted information about this one time previously on my diary, but for the most part I have silently waited for some action to be taken. I noticed about 3 weeks ago that several diaries were updated with photos, but mine still indicates "no photo available". This really upsets me! I have waited long enough and still no photo! How long does it take to load 1 picture for goodness sake! I understand that the staff at iparenting is busy, but this is ridiculous. iParenting, I'd love to hear from you if you can advise me why this is taking so long and/or when my photo will be posted.

Okay, now that I have that off my chest an update about Josh.

Josh has been well (knock on wood), but I just got a call from his best friend's Mom saying that her son is home sick today with a 102 degree fever. Josh spent most of the day Sunday with this friend, so I have my fingers crossed that he didn't catch the bug and that he will continue to be healthy.

Josh has also been sleeping better since my last entry. He is still waking in the night occasionally, but for the most part he is sleeping through the night once again. This morning he woke up at 5:00 am, came into our room and plopped down on the floor near the door. He does this because he knows he is not supposed to get out of bed. I have come to discover that this is his method to get us to go back to sleep and then he tries to get into bed with us. This has worked before, but this morning I was determined to get him back in his own bed. Clearly Josh is more stubborn and determined than me because at about 5:20 he ended up snuggled up between John and me in our bed. Oh well, at least we are making progress!

Josh has started doing something that I find funny. He will put one arm around John and one arm around me and he will say "Come here you two" and he will pull us close to him. It's so cute! We all hug each other and Josh loves it. I don't mind it, of course, but I just wonder where he learned this. John and I are both affectionate to each other and to Josh so maybe that's it.

We had a busy weekend with Josh! I have had to take so much time off these past 2 weeks for my fertility treatments, that I decided to work late Friday night and John needed to do the same. Josh's daycare was offering a babysitting night from 6:00 to 10:00 so that sounded like something we would try out. I went in and picked Josh up from school at 5:00 and we spent an hour together, then I brought him back to school for babysitting nighht and went into work for a feww hours to get myself caught up. I picked him up around 8:45 and he wasn't ready to go. He was having so much fun with all the toys and the new friends. It was great to see him having fun and sure made me feel better about my decision to take him, but Josh usually goes to bed at 8:30 and I didn't want him to stay up that late. We finally left at about 9:00 pm, I had changed Josh into his pajamas, washed his hands and face and brushed his teeth. When we got into the car, he was ready for bed. To my surprise Josh stayed up until after we got home. I think he was still wired from playing at school, so we didn't get him down to bed until almost 10:00. You would think that this would cause him to sleep late, but no way. He was up at 6:30 the next morning ready to play!

Saturday we went up to visit my parents and John and I saw a movie. We picked Josh up and all went to dinner together. We got Josh to bed on time because Sunday was a big day. We went to 2 birthday parties for a couple of Josh's friends from school and Sunday night we went to see Barney live! It was a great show and Josh was mesmerized. We had a great, but busy weekend!

As for TTC, I am on cycle day 18 (3 days pasy IUI). I have really high hopes for this cycle because I had the HSG, which increases fertilty for the following 3 months and I took clomid. I took the injectable meds and we had the IUI on Friday. I could feel that I was ovulating Friday morning and I went in for the IUI at 9:00 am. John had to go in an hour before me to give his "sample". When I saw the doctor, he told me to tell John he had done a "great job!". He showed me the numbers and I was amazed. Dr H said that they like to see at least 2,000,000 sperm for the IUI and John had 4,600,000! Even the doctor was proud! For now I am taking my prenatal vitamins and a form of progesterone, which is meant to increase the lining of the uterous. The only draw back to this drug is that it delays AF by about 3 days, so Dr H said my 2 week wait doesn't really start until today. He doesn't recommend that I test until Monday, March 22nd! The waiting is unbearable, but I am hanging in there.

Please send all your well wishes and luck my way, I could use it about now!

Thanks for reading!

Janet and Josh
