Hi Everyone!

Sorry it has been a while since I last wrote, things have been hectic!

Last Sunday (February 2nd), Josh had a low grade fever and seemed to really want to be held. He just wasn't his normal independent self. I decided to stay home from work on Monday, just to make sure he was okay. Well, Monday morning came and he was fine. He ate a big breakfast and we were playing outside. Everything seemed to be back to normal. My Mom called and offered to take Josh for the afternoon, so that I could get at least a half days work in. Josh was fine, and I thought he would have fun spending the afternoon with his Grandma, so I agreed. At 4:30, my Mom called me at work and said Josh was sicker than I thought and I should come home. I went home right away and found out that Josh's fever had come back and was now 104.5. I called the doctor and gave Josh some Motrin. The doctor said that I should make an appointment to come in Tuesday morning unless the Morin did not reduce the fever, in which case I should bring him to the ER! Well, we were able to get the fever down and Josh perked right up. He was playing and although, I couldn't get him to eat dinner he was drinking plenty so I was not really concerned about dehydration. The fever kept going down and coming back. Finally at about 3:00 am John and I took Josh to the ER. In addition to the fever he was having shortness of breath and we were both concerned.

As it turns out Josh had a mild case of pneumonia and an ear infection. They did a chest X-ray to confirm it. They gave him an injection of antibiotics right away and we administered oral antibiotics and breathing treatments at home for the next 5 days. The following 3 days were pretty rough because he was still getting the high fevers and wasn't really interested in eating. His sleeping schedule was all turned around. He was sleeping a lot during the day and then getting up during the night. John and I were trying to split work days and with help from my Mom, I only missed 2 full days of work, but worked half days for the remaining 3. Because we were trying to work and care for Josh, both John and I were really worn out.

The good news is, Josh has fully recovered. We are done with the antibiotics and breathing treatments and he is back to his normal self. Getting him to sleep through the night again is our current challenge. Because he was held so mouch while he was ill, the idea of sleeping in his crib doesn't sound too appealing to him anymore. He cries everytime I put him in his crib, so we have started a bad habit of letting him sleep with us. He starts off in his crib then in the middle of the night he cries and we are both so tired that after a couple of attempts to get him to sleep in his crib, I just give up and bring him to bed with us. The truth is, I love having him there so I can have him close, but he is a very active sleeper and usually takes up the majority of the bed. John doesn't sleep well with Josh in bed with us because he doesn't have room to move around. Oh well, at least he is well.

Josh shared his cold with me, I have been congested and coughing for the last few days. I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me that there really isn't any medication they can give me at this time, because it is possible that I am PG. I am on day 29 today and I will test tomorrow. My cycles range from 28 to 30 days usually so I don't have my hopes up yet, but I don't want to take anything just in case.

Well, that is it for this week!

Thanks for reading!
