HAPPY HALLOWEEN !!!Claire went trick or treating! She got all dolled up in her groovy little cheerleader costume,(courtesy of her uncles!)pom-pom in hand, and went door to door begging for treats. OK, if the truth be known, she actually just stood and stared at the people behind their doors. She didn't quite know what to make of it all! Since we don't have trick-or-treating in our apartment complex, we went to a friend's neighborhood and helped him pass out treats. I honestly believe Claire was more interested in watching the other kids all dressed up than she was actually trick-or-treating herself. Oh well, maybe next year she'll get the hang of it! Like any good parent, I've put her candy away to give her little by little over the course of the next few days. (OK, OK, It's a lie!!! I've eaten most of it myself already! Tell me though, which of you hasn't done that yourself?)
We had weekend guests this past weekend. I wasn't sure how Claire would be, having virtual strangers in the house, but she did great! As a matter of fact, on several occasions, Claire preferred our friend Carin over me for company and playtime! Carin thought maybe I would feel bad about that. NOPE. Not me. Glad to have the extra help actually.Carin even gave Claire a bath and carried my not-so-light little peanut around the mall! (Yes, we had a little stroller war at the mall. SOMEONE thinks they are too big for that baby stuff!) We are having weekend guests AGAIN this weekend! This time it's my mom and dad. I can't wait to see the look on Claire's face when they walk through the door! She just adores all four of her grandparents, which thrills us all to death. (read: no guilt leaving her with them) I'll post more about their visit next entry.
We will start going to a playgroup this coming Monday. I am SO excited! Not only does it give Claire the opportunity to play with other children, but it gives me the chance to interact with other adults. YIPPEE!!!!! We met another mom and her kids at the library last week and really hit it off. They invited us to join their little group. It's not too far from our place and there are quite a few kids in a wide range of ages. I kinda like that idea. It should give Claire the chance to be around other toddlers as well as interact with bigger kids. (when I say bigger, I mean like 3 or 4 year olds) So, on top of Kindermusik, we now have playgroup. That should keep us busy during the week. Weekends are our family time.We do things with Daddy, like go to the zoo, the pumpkin farm, the children's museum, etc. Which reminds me ... time to start planning our family weekend with my parents!
So, until next week that's all from our little corner of the globe!
See ya next week!
Heather and Miss Claire
