Well, it's finally happened. The weather has begun to turn cooler, the leaves are changing color, the sun seems to be setting earlier. ... I guess that means it's time to put away Claire's summer clothes. All the little sundresses, shorts and her bathing suit that I lovingly picked out for her in the spring, are making their way to a box for storage. I've been ripping the tags off of her fall clothes fast and furiously! Each day I think we are just going through a bit of a cold spurt, but alas, I think autumn is here to stay!!!!That said, here is the beginning of our weekly update ...
Sing, Sing a Song ...Claire began Kindermusik classes last week and our second one is tomorrow. I thought at first, when I signed her up, that she would enjoy it. I guess I didn't realize just how much! She has actually brought me her Kindermusik cd to play on several occasions and dances and sings (in her own Claire way!) to all the songs. She has her favorites, though, and lets me know!!! I'm impressed, too, by the way she interacts with the other children. Not having any brothers, sisters or playmates, I wasn't quite sure how she would behave. She seems quite fascinated with the other kids, for which I'm grateful. I was a bit nervous that she'd be afraid of them. I really don't know why. OH! and you should hear her play her tambourine! She sways back and forth like she's on stage playing to her own secret audience! Look out Stevie Nicks, here comes Claire Franco!!!!
Big 'Ol Jet Airliner ...Out of the frying pan and into the fire!!! When we left our last home in Pennsylvania, we left behind the noise from the train tracks, mere yards from our house. Now we are in some sort of direct flight path to two different airports!!!! Claire is COMPLETELY mesmerized by the airplanes. Even when we are in the house, she points up in the air, and then at me, as if to make sure I'm aware that there is a plane zooming over our house. (Believe me, I'm aware!!!) It's terribly cute to see her wave to the airplanes. I'm sure she thinks they can see her! We've explained to her many times about what a plane is and how there are people on board going someplace else. She has taken it upon herself to be the Hospitality Committee of the Detroit Metro area! One of these days, I'll snap a picture and post it for you all to see.
These Are the Days My Friends ...Claire seems to be getting smarter with each passing day. Every day there is a new discovery, a new word (well, words that WE understand anyway!) and always lots of smiles and laughter. She is our little shining star!!!!
So, until next week, we are saying our goodbyes. We hope you all have a great week!
Heather and the lovely Miss Claire
