Hannah's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

Introduction

I thought I would relax by writing an entry after emptying my house of 10 adults and 5 babies!!!! I hosted the 'Mother's morning tea' this fortnight and we deceided to invite a few extra girls from work to join us. The morning began at 10.30am and didn't end until 5.00pm when the last 2 girls left with their wee little babies. I'm exhausted, as is Louis, who decided not to have a sleep today!!!! He lasted all day without sleeping despite being grizzly at about 4.00pm. He had tea and went to bed at 6.00pm and I'm hoping it lasts through the night until 6.00am!!! We had a lovely day chatting and eating.....that's all we do at these so called all-day 'morning teas' but it's great just to sit and relax and practically do nothing. Cameron was home as we are both on holidays now but he pottered around outside and even took Louis outside so I could prepare the food and get the drinks. We are all meeting again mid January.

The little man is getting very smart and astounding us all. I told him he could have "one" lolly the other day and he immediately said "two", in a very matter-of-fact tone. I had to laugh at his response as it was so natural. He knows exactly what he wants, waking at 5.30am-6.30am asking for "toast". He is just beautiful and so much fun at the moment. We can sit and read books, nearly all the way through, depending on the length of the sentences. And we've been baking lately, Louis loves to cook. We made cookies the other day and I had to sit him on the bench so he could help. I floured the bench top to roll out the dough and he sat in it!!! He had it all over his legs, nappy and face. It was a cute sight, despite the mess. He goes to the fridge and asks for eggs. We scramble them but he ahs to help mix them first. Everything we do in the kitchen Louis says "up", to sit on the bench. I don't mind as I always supervise him when he's up there....to many things he can touch in my utensil pot!

Well, things are moving down below.....I've certainly been feeling movement. I was sure I felt the baby move from week 15 but I kept thinking that it might have been wind. Now I'm sure I've been feeling the baby move as the movements are stronger and I'm nearly 18 weeks. I don't feel constant movement, just an odd bump here and there. Only 1 week and 2 days until our ultrasound and I can't wait. Louis will be with us so I'm not sure how he'll react, he'll probably be bored and want me to get up off the bed. We have no choice but to take him with us as we are having this done on our way up to Rockhampton for holidays. He should be fine, fingers crossed.

Speaking of Rockhampton, Cameron is going to put in for a job up there. It's a promotion and he's be told to put in for it by one of the selection panel members who is a friend of ours. I don't mind moving, depite the fact that I will miss my family terribly, but I'd do it for Cameron's career. I love Rockhampton as we have family (Cam's) and friends there which makes it more appealing. If Cameron got the job we would be moving late January - early February!!!! I certainly want to move so I have heaps of time to find and obyn and see the hospital. It's funny. I lived in this town for 5 years and these are the things I certainly didn''t need during that time of my life. Now I will see the place through new eyes, having to consider Louis and a new baby. But we'll see what happens, Cameron has to get an interview first. I'll keep you informed.

I'm not sure if I'll get to post a new entry before Christmas and I'm sure you girls have a million things to do before the big day. So have a very magical Christmas and a wonderful New Year. We'll be thinking of you all during this special time and look forward to catching up on your festivities in 2002.

All our love Hannah, Cameron & Louis XXX
