Hannah's Diary EntriesDiary Navigation: |
November 7, 2001
This is my second attempt at writing an entry, goodness knows where the other one went to which I wrote earlier today.
We went of our scan today and I was sooooo pleased to see that gorgeous little heartbeat and our miracle swimming around inside me. We did receive a BIG surprise, wait for it..............no it's not twins, but.................instead of being 8 weeks and 3 days I am 11 weeks and 6 days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I knew the Obyn was suspicious as he was going to do an internal scan and after feeling my lower abdomen he said he would try and external scan. He measured the baby and said "How do you explain this?" I knew the measurement was large for the number of weeks I thought I was but I might have guess we were a week ahead of schedule, not 3 weeks and 3 days ahead!!! We were totally blown away by the findings but over the moon of course. The so called period I had was not a period and it was more than likely implantation bleeding. I didn't need to take the Clomid, we were already pregnant. I was then scared that this may have caused some sort of defect but the Obyn assured me that there is no greater risk of defects and it happens to lots of women.
Therefore, somewhere along the way we lost nearly 4 weeks and have an explanation as to why I was getting big so early, or so I thought. Our little angel is due on 23 May 2002 and I couldn't be happier. I had tears running down my face when he told us the news as I knew I was nearly over the 'danger' period for miscarriage.......and to have come so far without knowing it. We have to go to Brisbane for our 19 week scan, I think that's due to my history. My Obyn said that he wanted me to have the best radiographer and equipment to do the big scan at 19 weeks. I'm happy to travel the 1.5 hours (which is no distance at all) to have this done and it's not that far away.
Well I 'd better go for now. Please give your little people kisses from us.
Love Hannah & Louis XXX
