Hannah's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

September 5, 2001

Hi All,

Well I turned 29 last Monday!!! I had a nice day, nothing outlandish. My family came over and we had cake and coffee which was great. I asked for money for my birthday as there are a few things I want to buy (like clothes, clothes and more clothes). So, that's it for another year. I don't stress about age like some people as I feel very young, my memory is still good and I've still got my shit together (others may disagree, LOL!!!)

Louis has still been out of sorts. I'm not sure whether to take him back to the doctors. I think he is just TIRED!!! He does still have a runny nose but it's clear and he seems to still be coughing (not hacking, just annoying). I know that he's mega tired, as by 5.30pm he is cranky, more cranky than I want to admit. He threw numerous tantrums the other night, during dinner, whilst I was trying to bath him, when I was dressing him, etc. I said to Cameron that it would be so easy to smack his little bum but it wouldn't do any good. I was frustrated!!! I felt helpless, there was nothing I could do to make things better for him so after dressing him for bed I just sat with him and cuddled the little guy. We have decided to put him to bed at 6.30pm instead of 7.00pm to try and make him happier and let me tell you, he has gone to sleep straight away. He has slept better these last few nights (I know I've now jinxed myself), waking at approximately 5.30am only to go back to sleep in our bed. So I have a sleepy little man on my hands.

He is getting better every day with his speech. He's added "Outside", "Hello" (cleared than before), "Duncan", "Caity",
"Lach, Lach" (our dog whose name is Lachlan)
and "ball" to his repertoire. Other people still find it hard to understand but Cameron and I don't have any trouble.

He loves his Mummy more than ever, especially these last few days when he's been tired and grumpy. Daddy just doesn't seem to get a look in. I don't mind except when I'm trying to go to the toilet or getting tea ready. Little boys certainly are Mummy's boys.

I am in the process of organising a High School reunion for my Grade 12 class for later next year(that's our last year of high school). We are over due for it, it's been 12 years!!! No one seemed to have the time when the 10 year anniversary came around so it passed by without a party. I have now decided that it's time to do something. It's going to be very hard to organise as I'm not in Mackay, the town where I went to school which happens to be 1000km away (621 miles)!!! I still keep in touch with a few people from school so we are banding together to contact as many people as we can and then we'll rely a little on the good old grape vine. I am terribly excited about it and I'm thinking that it will take the focus off 'trying' for baby no. 2. I can concentrate on something else and sink my teeth into it. Good therapy, I say.

Well my dear friends, I must go and do some washing (YUK). Take care of yourselves and your darlings.

Love Hannah & Louis XXX
