Hannah's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

April 13, 2002

Here I am, 6 weeks left to go until we get to meet the little guy. I am certainly ready now, despite knowing that every day in utero counts. I'm still terribly uncomfortable and according to my Obyn, who I went to see on Tuesday gone, said that the head is still engaged but mobile. I'm assuming that means it can still move in and out. I'm not very big but I know that's not indicative of baby's size. My friend just had her biggest baby of the 3 and looked the smallest of all her PG's. We are all taking bets in my family as to the date and size of Hugh.....the games we play. I'd really like to go early but my Obyn said that PG's tend to follow previous ones and I was 1 week or 3 days over with Louis, depending on what dates you take. Both my scan and LMP dates are only 1 day difference so I guess we can be pretty safe with our estimate of 23 May.

Louis is certainly entertaining me these days. He has taken to asking me questions about everything. "Whad's dis Mummy?", even if he knows what it is. It's a huge game for him as I end up laughing as he asks me what silly things are like a banana. He goes over things 2-3 times just to see my reaction. He's very enjoyable at the moment despite still coming into our bed at anytime of the night. He's going to bed much better though. We tried the closing of the door technique, where you close the door if they hop out of bed for gradual lengths of time and he hates it, therefore he stays in his bed. I've been letting him come into our bed during the night if he wakes but now realise that it's going to be very disruptive for him when I'm awake breastfeeding in a few months time. So I need to make him stay in his bed now while I have the energy. Last night he came in at 11.37pm and as I'd just really gone to bed it was easy to take him back and say that he had to stay in his bed. It's not so easy at 3.30am!!!!

He's enjoying daycare much more now that he only goes 1 day each week. He doesn't get nearly as upset when I drop him off and even though he's very pleased to see me at the end of the day he doesn't get over emotional about it and even shows me things in the room before we leave. This pleases me as I don't want it to be torture for the little man, it should be fun. He doesn't seem to be keen on the food they provide though. When I ask him if he had sandwiches for lunch he say "No, yukky!" This, of course, makes me laugh, which probably isn't a good thing but I know he isn't starving when I pick him up so he's obviously eaten throughout the day.

Well, better go and catch up on washing. I've been thinking about not keeping a diary at all when Hugh arrives. I'm finding it hard to keep this one alive as it is. Give me a few weeks to think about it, I definitely won't stop writing before Hugh arrives and I certainly won't be staying away from the cyber network we have here, I love you girls too much.

Kisses to you all.

Love Hannah & Louis XXX
