Hannah's Diary Entries

Diary Navigation:

March 18, 2002

Boy have I been busy!!! I finished work last Monday and am currently on maternity leave. A little early you might say but I wanted time at home with Louis and time to clean and organise things before the baby arrives. I know I won't return to work at the end of the 12 month period but I didn't want to burn my bridges until I really had to. So what have I been up to since finishing work............cleaning. The dreaded cleaning frenzy has begun after the painters finished about a month ago. I have so far cleaned the bathroom, our bedroom, Louis' room and the baby's room. This leaves the lounge room, dining room and kitchen which happen to be one large open plan room. I feel so much better having started the task but can only really tackle it on Tuesdays when Louis is at daycare. I did let him help me the first day and he ended up cleaning the ladder I was standing on!!! But it should be finished this week which makes me one happy girl.

We have had tummy upsets, conjunctivitis and colds in this house. Over a period of a week we have all had one or the other with Cameron having them all. We're getting back on track though and Louis seems to been none the worse for it all. I checked in his mouth yesterday and found that the little guy has been cutting his 2 year molars. For a boy who got all his teeth later than everyone else he is certainly on track with the molars. They seem to all be coming through at once, just at different stages. Other than a few occasions when he's been really grizzly there has been no noticeable sign that they were there.

He is certainly growing into a handsome little man. Everyone comments on his blue eyes and his gorgeous smile. People still stop to chat to him when we go grocery shopping, mostly older women but he'll talk to anyone. He shouts out across the street to the little girl who lives there. She's 6 years old and her name is Annabelle which translates to "Owwabewl". It's really cute but very noisy. He also calls to the teenage kids next door when they are outside playing. He simply says, "Hey kids!!!!!!" Only 12 days until Louis' 2nd birthday and I'm still in shock at how the time has flown. I've been reminiscing about his birth, which probably stems from the fact that I'm about to do it all again, but despite this it's all so fresh in my mind. I keep looking at his baby photos and remembering this little baby with a screwed up face. A hard task when you've got a nearly 2 year old tugging at your leg to come and play with him.

On the PG front, nothing new to report. I have another check up next week (32 weeks) which will be interesting in terms of whether the baby is still engaged. I personally think it keeps popping in and out which suits me fine as I really don't want to go into premature labour. I've been experiencing heaps of rolling movements - very uncomfortable, but exciting as it gives me an indication that things are getting tight in there, which means he's growing.

Well I'd better go and check my emails and all the other diaries. Quite a few new diaries popping up, especially on the PG site. It'll certainly keep you busy if you decide to follow them all. Stay well dear friends and I'll write again soon.

Love Hannah & Louis XXX
