Oh I seem to slip every week…………how can the days go by so quickly?
On the house front, it’s finished!!! The house is painted and looks divine even though I’m yet to clean the entire inside of my house but I’m working on that. It really looks bright and sunny which is good considering that since it’s been finished we’ve had dull, rainy, foggy weather (good timing I’d say). I promise to take photos when the weather has cleared. It’s a relief from the stinking hot days we had last week. It was 95 degrees F at the end of the week and I didn’t handle it very well.
Due to the heat and being PG I totally lost the plot. Poor Louis copped the lot. One afternoon he was simply being disobedient (as nearly 2 year olds can be). Everything I told him to do or not to do, he did the opposite. The last straw came when he was feeding the cat only to empty the entire contents of the box into her dish, on the floor, under the fridge, etc. I was beside myself!!! I gave him a smack on his nappy, took him inside and plonked him on his couch whilst yelling at him. Cameron was coming home from work and said he heard me yelling as he was driving into the driveway. Of course when he walked in the door and asked me what was up I burst into tears. Needless to say Cameron had 2 crying babies on his hands and was a little lost, I think. We all recovered and I vowed to be a little more even tempered from now on. It really made me realise that I need to not let the small things get to me and try to discipline Louis in a more civilized manner.
We’ve had a great time since then even though Louis has still been quite the defiant little man. One instance was on Sunday when we got home late in the afternoon. Louis fell asleep in the car and so when I bought him inside I thought we could all lie on the bed and have a little nap. This simply turned into a little person rolling this way and that, hopping up, lying back down, etc. After numerous warnings I smacked his little bum which was up in the air with his face in the pillow. His response to my smack was “Oh shit*” (pronounced ‘sit’). I couldn’t contain my laughter and had tears streaming down my face. I know I shouldn’t have laughed but it was just a classic. He is just too on the ball for my liking.
Louis also doesn’t like going to daycare lately. He cries and clings to me every time he gets dropped off. I hate leaving him there when he’s like this but I only have 2 weeks left of work. He has also been a little out of sorts in general. I think he is having bad dreams at night. Last night he woke at 12.30am and came into our room. I put him back in his bed and for the next hour, off and on, he cried in his sleep saying, “No, no, no”. I’m not sure if he’s coming down with something or if it’s simply a stage. Any suggestions?
Cameron got his stitches out from his surgery. Apparently the cancer wasn’t a melanoma but a level 3 BCC. This is not too bad except it was multi focal (doctor mumbo-jumbo), which means that there can be related cells elsewhere. It’ll mean he just has to be very careful in future and get his back checked regularly. Poor thing is only just recovering from the event as it’s been pretty sore.
Little bubby has been on the move. I’ve been having Braxton Hicks for a few weeks now and they are much more uncomfortable than I remember. I go for my 28 week appointment next Tuesday which I’m looking forward to. The most awful thing to happen so far this time is the dreaded hemorrhoids. I had them last PG but they are bigger this time (sorry to gross you out!). I must admit they aren’t as painful yet, but it’s only going to get worse, I imagine. Other than that, things are going smoothly, fingers crossed they stay that way.
On that note I’ll love and leave you for this week. Please kiss those darlings for us and take care.
Love Hannah & Louis XXX
