Tyler is 14 months and 1 day!
HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!
I have to first say that this is going to be a short, short, short entry! Tyler is napping and in a minute I'll tell you what has been going on. I do hope that you all are enjoying your Valentines day, no matter how you are spending it. I'm afraid that Steve and I aren't doing anything exciting really, and with good reason. We did, however, exchange cards and a small gift for each other. I gave Steve a frame that I found at Hallmark that said "Daddy and Me" on it and I put a picture of him and Tyler in it. He LOVED it! And I received a bottle of the perfume that I have been eyeing since Christmas. So, let me tell you my little pity story and then I'll finish up...
This past weekend we went to a wedding for a friend of the family. Tyler and Steve stayed home during the ceremony and then we all went to the reception. It was just my mom, dad, sister, and I that went to the actual ceremony. Tyler had a blast at the reception and then Steve went home with him for bedtime and let me stay to have a good time. I think that was a good enough Valentines present right there!!! I did have fun, but I wished that my boys could have stayed the whole time too. I'm afraid that Tyler's eyes would have fallen out of his head though!!!! Anyways, to my point: The bride's father was sick with the flu and decided NOT to tell anyone and hugged just about everyone that came through the receiving line at the ceremony. Luckily, Tyler was never close to him. Needless to say, I got sick, VERY SICK. I was in the bathroom all day Monday and all night and then I was so weak on Tuesday that I could barely move. Steve had to take off work because I didn't want Tyler to get sick and I couldn't pick him up anyways. In the past three days I've eaten nothing but dry toast, about 6 saltine crackers, and some chicken broth. Thankfully, I am feeling like my old self again today. WOOHOO!!!! So, there's my reason for not writing lately, plus we've got so much going on.
Even bigger news though, Tyler is standing on his own for long amounts of time and has taken SEVERAL unaided steps!!!!! This is it ladies and gentlemen, he's closer than ever and I can't stand the suspense!!! I'm on the edge of my seat every time he stands near the end of the coffee table and just about takes a step, but then plops down on his but. It's like I'm watching a damned movie in the depths of a critical action scene just waiting for the outcome. But, he's close; OH SO CLOSE, and I have a feeling that in about a week or two he'll be walking on his own.
So, that's my update for this week. Not much to say, but that's what happens when your plagued with the flu and your brain cells seem to have just fallen out. I'll send in two more of Tyler's one-year pics, and then next entry I'll scan in some new ones. Have a great Valentines Day everyone!!! Hugs and kisses to your little ones!
Erin
