Hi guys,
An update: the sleep situation is still iffy. One night, the girls slept through the night until 6:00 a.m.! We couldn’t believe it. Then the next night, they woke up at 3:00, and then last night, at 1:00! Argh! I just can’t figure it out. On the whole, however, having them sleep together is a good thing. In the morning, they talk and giggle with each other. It’s very sweet, and nice to know they’re keeping each other company.
The great news is that Cassandra is walking! Just as when she started crawling all of a sudden at 10 months, last week she just decided that it was time to walk. She can walk across the entire house without stumbling. Meanwhile, Julianna is practically running! She cruises so fast -- around corners and everything.
So with all this walking going on, we went out and bought them some new – "real" – shoes. They had been wearing little ballet slipper-type shoes before yesterday, but they needed more support. We got these adorable little white Stride Rites with a flower on the front and little buckles. How come girls’ shoes and clothes are so much cuter than boys’ things? Another funny thing: Julianna’s feet are a half size bigger than Cassandra’s! Jules wears a 6 and Cass wears and 5 ½. CJ wears an 8 ½. He also enjoyed being in the shoe store for a change, which was nice. Usually, he can’t stand to try on new shoes. This time, he let us measure his feet and everything. We didn’t get him new shoes, though, since he still fits into his current "airplane shoes" that light up when he walks.
The girls have been enjoying their new shoes immensely. They want to wear them all the time. When they wake up and we go downstairs, they see their shoes right away, pick them up, hand them to me and stick out their feet so I can put them on. No communication problems here. ;-) They walk around in their shoes so proudly, and I’m so proud of them.
We’ve found that they enjoy the Gerber toddler meals now. The little chunks of chicken and pasta and vegetables seem to hit the spot. LOL! They’re saying new words all the time, repeating things we say to them. The latest is "Happy." Julianna in particular likes to say it a lot: "Ha-ppy! Ha-ppy!"
Talk to you soon!
Elisa
